Credit Union West

I was originally with Sun Country Credit Union (formerly ( Del E Webb CU) and served as Treasurer and Board Member for 6 years, before it was acquired by Credit Union West. I have been a member of the Credit Union since 1982.

I will occasionally mail a large deposit ($20k) to my Business account. The last time i did that in April 2023, the check floated around the mail system for over a week, Believing it was lost, we put a stop payment on it and reissued another one. On May 1, 2023, the first check showed up and the Credit Union put a seven business day hold on it. That next day, the second $20k check showed up.

By now the first check came back due to the stop payment. They charged me $18 withdrawal fee, and put a 9 business day hold on the second check. Because the check was drawn on my Chase business account, I saw that it cleared on May 3, 2023. The Credit Union will not release the funds until May 12, 2023.

I brought to their attention and they refuse to release the funds.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CREDIT UNION. Desert Financial has their act together and function the way a Credit Union is designed to operate on behalf of the MEMBERS, not the Executives!!

Horrible company, can't get my money, change locations without notifications, tried to deposit a inheritance check and they said i had to make an appointment another day??? Elvia

I think the members should have been given the option if they wanted to use the four digit PIN or biometric or a password. The four digit PIN was much easier especially when everything needs a password and it needs to be changed constantly

Some one send me moneyto my bank account the bank hasn't credit me my $25000 dollars and they said there closeing my bank account they said that i gave my password out and thats not true please help me with this problem and get my funds back to me its really important to me my phone number is 915283**** thank you

I accidentally used the wrong card for a $15.00 purchase. Realizing my mistake, I was inside the bank in less than 5 minutes to explain and make good on my account with a $200.00 deposit.

The teller happily assured me I wouldn't be charged the $35.00 overdraft fee because I arrived so quickly. (I have overdraft protection as well as money in my share account) Well an eavesdropping women butted in and said I was already charged and that they would not remove the fee! Apparently I had used up a ONE TIME ONLY courtesy fee removal 8months prior due to a fraudulent charge to my account that Wasn't even my fault! I was VERY upset with this and practically begged them to remove the charge seeing as I was there 5 minutes after my purchase!

Well I was AGAIN denied then helped by a trainee with my deposit. 20 minutes later I left in tears due to the stares and overall glares I got. I was humiliated, disgusted and angry at how badly I was treated. I'm a single mother and every dollar counts.

Shame on you credit union west for the unbelievable lack of customer service, compassion and terrible fees. Other banks give you till the end of the business day before charging a fee. These people are like ambulance chasers charging you that very instant while treating you like a leper with mange!

If you want to fund the awful employees Starbucks fund, then this bank is for you. Steer clear if you need every hard earned penny though.....!

Credit Union West reached out to me with a pre-screened offer to refinance my vehicle loan for a lower interest rate of 5.75%. After collecting my information they revised the offer to 6.75% with $2,500 down. I declined their offer, as it would have been no different than my current financing in terms of complete monies exchanged upon the life of the loan. This was done via email and phone.

They then send a letter of credit denial on their part citing "Incomplete Credit Application" though an offer of credit was issued on their part.

Steer clear of joke factories like this one, as well as any institution that provide pre-screened offers. They only run up the number of credit inquiries that effect your credit score.

Boy they sure are quick to charge a late fee. I made the mistake of forgetting a payment!

Received 1st late notice and dropped payment in post office box next morning, check cleared on 10/08/15 . 2nd notice mailed on 10/08/15. Late fee charged. Called and explained I made a mistake and overlooked payment and was told sorry we only delete late fees when its our fault.....

How about a little empathy here? I didnt get a credit score of 830 for being delinquent and/or not making payments.

What Customer - Oriented Bank or credit union doesn't open on Saturday in today's world???? Why__ Credit Union West In Cottonwood Az Arizona doesn't think their customers are worth it apparently. Sad because this is not the first BIG disappointment from being a customer of Credit Union West ( CreditUnion West ).

The first big issue is from summer 2012 in which I needed cash to buy the car of my dreams _ one finally came up (after years of searching) for the Cash Price of LESS than 10 grand. I was blessed enough to have the amount I needed in Credit Union West bank but does that ever matter: NO it Does Not. They do not "keep that kind of cash in their bank": the teller told me while she broke out some useless form to [actually] order money. Ten grand is nothing in daily business for many people, However since Credit Union West is Cash-Poor I missed out on my sweet convertible (more than just A want: A 'need' In Az). "Thanks" So Much Credit Union West you cost me Much!!

Then Today (a Saturday) I went through much to get there before noon only to find out they were Now closed Saturday's (they didn't ask the members). This has messed up days of business for me due to an important deposit I NEEDed to make today. "Thanks" Again Credit Union West ( CreditUnion West ) you cost me Again!

They charge 6 buck a month if you ever drop below 1500

And are rarely open. If you have [much] more than 1500 bucks in your checking they can't help you either unless your "off the cuff" business opportunities or Spur of the moment deals can wait for Days or weeks.. Shame Shame Credit Union West: just collect money from members and offer minimum services. Time to DUMP the useless and outdated "tools".
