Verified ReviewerHave had my scores lowered at all 3 bureaus due to a collection on my report from Southern New Hampshire University. I have been repeatedly calling all 3 bureaus trying to get a this problem resolve.
- - SNHU claims $960; I deny the charge and froze after losing my SS card.
- - Bureaus haven't shown SNHU results; login issues and CFPB contact.
Still fighting to clear my name and get my scores back up.
I have spoken to Credit Karma , TransUnion, Equifax-credit, & Experian several times since 1-30-2024 about a disputed charge on all my accounts. Southern New Hampshire University claims I owe them $960.00.
Which I know of no charges and had lost my SS card in June of 2022. I placed a freeze on all accounts and contacted SS to receive a new card. Since then I've been contacted several times by banks. Credit cards, Finiance companies & others where someone has tried to us my SS# to get loans.
So far I've been able to resolve those issues, but Credit Karma, TransUnion, Equifax-credit, & Experian all have failed to advise me of the results of the investigation with Southern New Hampshire University for the $960.00 dispute. I was on the phone nearly 2 hours with Crefit Karma on this last Wensday with them unable to correctly get me signed in due to the representative not understanding English. I was asked 3 or more times for my email address, 3 or more times phone #, I was never asked for my address or a security question. I gave my SS# several times, again asking more than once.
Got to the point after 1 hour and a half, I asked to speak to a supervisor which also wast Hispanic and barely could understand me or me him. I believe he said I would receive an email in 24 hours and we stopped there. Last night again I contacted Transunion to speak to a person, I was hung up on and sent a link to start talking to AI and we were never able to reset a password, I was never sent a temporary code, I started chatting with a representative that run me around for over an hour. Till I ask to speak to a representative again, according to Hanah whom I was speaking with a supervisor joined in on the conversation.
After sending over 10 links I was never able to sign up, sign in, our get them to tell me the results of the completed dispute. This went on for another 30 mins. Claiming I had no account with them, yet receiving emails saying the dispute had been resolved and to log in to view the results. Never was able to log in, or never was able to open a new account.
At one time I was told I didn't have an account, but kept receiving emails from TransUnion and one saying the dispute was resolved, but unable to view the results.
I have exhausted all my avenues trying to clear my name and regain my credit scores all over 800. Picture attached is one day contacting the bureaus, CFPB and not showing my call logs and time spent on my phone trying to get help..
User's recommendation: Get help from the Consumer Protection Agency or an attorney if your identity is stolen like mine

Verified ReviewerTo let everyone know how polite the representative was.
I got a new cellphone and my credit karma account didn't down on my new phone so I couldn't get into my account. I had to do a new username.

Credit Bureau reported fraudulent info on my report
- - Credit Tech reported derogatory info to my credit reports.
- - The creditor backs the debt; I paid directly.
- - I am seeking legal action to restore my credit.
A collection agency intentionally reported derogatory info to my credit reports and completely ruined my rating. I have the backing of the creditor I owe the money to.
I need to know what legal action I can take to restore my credit rating.
The collection agency is Credit Tech. WhenI informed them that I would and was making regular payments to the creditor they actually called to verify and agreed that I was making such payments but still wanted me to make payments through them instead of the creditor.
I declined and still continued to make regular payments to the creditor. Because the collection agency was not getting their commission, they decided to punish me even though I was making the payments directly to the creditor.
Credit bureaus and their credit monitoring companies, have somehow gotten into my checking account
- - Credit protection services allegedly charged my account after I abandoned the signup.
- - I was overdrawn; beware and seek a refund.
it appears that the same people who want to help guard our credit are not above cheating themselves.I have been just been informed by my bank that i am overdrawn ,again,.last year i attempted to sign up for these services that protect your credit and you can get your credit scores, for 14.95 each mo.,well, for some reason or another i at the last moment decided not to use these companies, did not finish the app.,well guess what they, they some way or another got my bank account numbers and have been taking money from my account, and you guessed it ,i know i have been cheated by these people,so consumer beware.I fully intend to actively go after my money as well as the people who did this, and for WHAT IT IS WORTH BE CAREFUL.
FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING GO AFTER THESE CROOKS,DON'T LET THEM WIN
Credit bureau,you smell
- - Struggling to reach a live human at Experian or Equifax; recordings only, and I need my mortgage status updated to reflect a corrected 150-day late.
When is the last time any of us consumers have tried to call one of the 3 major credit bureaus and talk to a real live human,in order to solve an issueon our reports,Well,I have been trying, and it never happened.Anything this important ,deserves a real human voice.for days now I have been trying to get in touch experian, and or equifax,no go,recording only,I am trying to update my file ,according to my old file my mortgageis late 150 days, however I have corrected this, and I wanted toshow this on my file, but without the real human voice. The way I see this,is an attempt to delay everything, sso we have to still pay everythingat a higher interest rate, make sence to me,greed
Reported me because of .03 cents due
- - 30 days late on a credit card; due was .03.
- - Late payment reported to the Credit Bureau.
- - Cannot be removed; reporting is required, harms credit.
1. I was 30 days late on my credit card payment.
2. The amount due was .03 cents.
3. This late payment was reported to the Credit Bureau
4. The Customer Service could not escalate me as her manager was out sick, but thought she would be in either next Thursday or Friday! Guess one can approximate when one is going to get better!
5. The Customer Service Rep said that they are legally obligated to report late payments, no matter what the late payment amount is.
6. The Customer Service Rep said that they cannot legally remove this from my credit report.
Damage Resulting = This has adversely affected my credit score. Of course this will affect me economically as banks are being very strict on bank loans for consumers now -which is good.

If the creditor contracted with the collection agency and you are paying the creditor, they should be paying the agency. They are likely violating the contract by accepting payment from you directly./
