I THOUGHT I could trust Coventry Contractors
- - Downspout leak persists, causing exterior work and a $3,500 deposit.
- - They damaged cabinets and bedrooms, sprayed hinges, and did not return my deposit.
I hired them to fix a leak in a downspout of a house that I had inherited from my sister. My sister had just died and I, a 59 year old single woman, was left to deal with the house on my own.
To make a long story short, the leaking downspout lead to replacing soffit and facia (5,600), sealing windows (600). Putting some rubber paint stuff on the roof of a small back porch (400). I had them paint the exterior of the house which was another several thousand. I gave them an additional hefty deposit (3,500) to do work on the inside They did a lousy job of removing a ceiling in the den and I had to have someone else do it.
They knocked some small cabinets from a tiny kitchen and destroyed three small bedrooms while attempting to paint them. They used a paint sprayer and sprayed over all of the door hinges and sockets and never bothered to clean the baseboards before painting them. The walls were left striped as the guy did not know what he was doing. Did I mention that I paid to remove all of rubbish?
I finally could take no more and asked my nephew to get involved. He met with them several times and gave them opportunities to rectify their mistakes.
The mistakes were not able to be rectified and they did not offer any of my deposit back. As an added misery, my downspout is STILL leaking!
