Misrepresented "original" Pawley's Island Hammock
My son paid top money for an "original Pawley's Island" hammock at Country Classics in Salem, Va. This was a Christmas gift for my husband. When the weather got warm enough we took it out of the box and mounted it in the yard.
My son noticed the "made in China" sticker on the hammock. The store refused to take it back because we didn't return it within 30 days.
Pawley's Island was emailed and I got no reply. Nowhere on the box stated where the hammock was made. This is gross misrepresentation and such a scam!
On their website Pawley's Island Hammocks list their business address and workshop location as South Carolina.
I could have ordered a bigger and better hammock online but I always try to buy items made in the USA. We are stuck with this hammock, but hope that others will take heed of this and be sure what they are getting. I think that both the manufacturer as well as the retail store should be honest and ethical about what they are selling.
