Refused to give back my deposit twice

I was booked for the passion play tour in 2020 but everything shut down and they refused to give me back my deposit.... even though I did not cancelllllll they could do not do it due to covid. Lied about the play and hotels would not give a refund. Also a lie. I asked about applying it to 2021 and they refused. Eventually rebooked for now delayed until 2022 and when they required a vaccine to travel, I asked for my money back. No just cancelled me and kept my money. Completely dishonest. I did not cancel. They required a vaccine and kept my money. NEVER book with costsaver or Trafalgar.

User's recommendation: Don't book with Costsaver or Trafalgar--- dishonest.

I agree with your assessment of CS and it’s parent company, Trafalgar. The first time they cancelled my May trip was the DAY AFTER I had made my final trip payment.

Based upon the company’s recommendations I rescheduled the May trip to August, making all the necessary flight changes. Then they cancelled the trip a second time but refused to refund my ten-day trip through Japan in August 2022!!!

They blamed it on “forces beyond our control,” without mentioning COVID or just what those “forces” were. Fortunately I bought the trip insurance and strongly recommend purchasing such insurance before booking with this company!

Huge Non-Refundable

I should have known that something was fishy when they asked for a $750 deposit. Now with the border closings and quarantines still happen in late 2021, I asked my travel agent what their policy was on cancellations if I felt it was too unhealthy to travel due to COVID. I would lose the deposit as the fine print says on the invoice you get after you pay. Costsaver policy says $200pp on their site, except if you get air travel through them then its $350pp. Yes, they will give us credit on whatever we paid until 12/31/2022 minus the deposit. This will be our 3rd tour with Trafalgar and its just getting worse. Trafalgar forwards you to Costsaver if you type in an Oberammergau tour.

User's recommendation: Can you afford to lose huge deposit or travel to an unsafe country.

why don't I get my full refund , when you caused me to loose it?

Update by user Sep 05, 2021

Coastsavers processed the refund on August 18,2021. Heard no news.

Cancelled August 11,2021 Had our money or final payment since July 9,2021 of $1748.25. They will only give us $1592.67. My friend and I are fighting the insurance also. The total trip cost us $2098.25.

As of the processing on Aug.18 they said it would take 90 days before I see the refund. That is approximately November 15, 2021. I will never travel with Tarfalga tours. That is the main company.

Cost Savers is a division. They are certainly making money on the money they are holding.

I was booked for the Nat'l parks in September. In June I asked the question what do I have to do, if I don't want the vaccine. I was told as long as I got tested 72hrs before I would leave and have paperwork to prove it,I could go on the trip. You wanted your final payment by July 9TH. I submitted my payment of 1700 and change. Now I can't go unless I get the vaccine. You should have delayed final payment until you were sure there would be no changes. You have no right to make me get a vaccine, it is my body and I have the right to decide for myself. I was in a middle of a move from R.I. to Utah which was stressful. And now you pushed me over the top. I feel guilty because my friend Linda Blackwood has the shot, but doesn't want to travel alone, so she is going to lose money too. We are in our seventies and can't afford to lose that money. We are already losing the insurance money. Sincerely, Laura Saccoccio A039696 is my booking number . We would not have paid, if we knew this would happen. I always highly recommended Costsavers, but now I will not.

A Budget Costsaver tour - Britain and Ireland Explorer

16 day Britain and Ireland Explorer – Aug 2019 This is a cheap, budget tour and you get what you pay for folks: hotels with small, poky rooms and bathrooms on the outskirts of town, not many inclusions (optional inclusions are pricier than the normal entrance fees to attractions) and many hours on the bus with few hours in towns and cities. We experienced all sorts of weather most days. However, my husband and I, who did this tour in August, saw a variety of sights, had some satisfactory cultural experiences, enjoyed the daily breakfasts and were ‘generally’ satisfied. The tour guide Selene, and driver Ken, were very good. It was ‘OK’ - three and a half stars.

Disappointment in a travel tour.

No one indicated to us the reason for why it is called Costsaver 1. All the hotels except London were not in the cities in the tours. 2.Due to that the time allowed in each city was reduced due to the travel required to drive into the city. 3. The sites on the tour were not all the ones that people wanted to see. eg. Stonehenge, Cliffs of Mohr, Hadrians Wall etc 4. Most of the times we were in a city, we had to spend time searching for somewhere to eat. 5. The 14 day tour in reality was only 10 days.
