Evo Lasers - Beware of Sam David Lehrer

My Story: On 9-5-2013 I spoke to Jose David Suarez at Off Lease Laser. He said he had a Palomar Starlux 500 that was just back off lease and was in excellent shape with only 84K pulses, and had been totally cleaned and services and in “New Condition”. It came with three hand pieces (Rs, Y, and MaxG) that had been rebuilt with new lamps, and the counters re-set. And also a 1540 Fractional with both the 10mm & 15mm tips. All refurbished, and in great condition. And would include Eye protection, User Manual, and Protocols Manual. All for $39,000.00. With a warranty. The money was wire transferred on 9-6-2013.(See Purchase Agreement) When the unit arrived on 9-11-2013 we were more than disappointed, it was in beaten up shape, with filthy air filters, and lots of scratches and yellowing. The first sign of trouble was that the serial number had been removed off of the main unit, and no MaxG hand piece, no 10mm 1540 tip, and no manuals and eyewear were in the boxes. When we started up the machine, the main hand pieces worked with no error codes, but the fractional 1540 would not calibrate, and we only received the 15mm tip. And the Rs hand piece was broken and coming apart. On 9-17-2013, I Fedex’ed the Rs and 1540 back to Off Lease Laser. Jose said he would fix them or replace them, and ship them back with the MaxG, the 10mm 1540 head, eyewear, and the Manuals. A few days later we received the 1540 with only the 15mm tip, and a LuxG hand piece (Not to be confused with a MaxG as originally purchased), and a replacement Rs hand piece. Once everything was hooked up and all heads calibrated, we noticed that the 1540 would flash but not do anything, no snap on the skin, no feeling whatsoever at any setting. So as we moved onto checking each of the other hand pieces, they would flash but really not snap you like they should. At this point we went over to a local Laser School that our techs trained at and tried out two of their Palomar Starlux 500’s with every head available at our disposal. At this point we knew we got screwed big time, and had a useless boat anchor. All our calls, text messages and emails were not returned from Off Lease Laser. We were screwed. I found a Palomar tech that came to us and machine tested all the heads and the 1540. The flash-lamps and crystals on each hand piece were old and worn out, and only the software on each head had been re-set to zero, and the 1540 was just junk that was previously torn apart and glued back together. The Y hand piece was actually a Ys that had the outside cover replaced to fool you into thinking it was a Y. The Ys has a much smaller tip than Y we had purchased. The base unit was filthy inside, and the water filters had not been replaced in over 2 years. The software chip was a copy of the new software. The hand pieces were not 500 hand pieces, and actually went to the older 300 model that is slower and less powerful. Totally scammed by these guys. On 9-25-2013 we sent all the hand pieces to a company in Utah called Sentient, and paid the $1900.00 evaluation cost. Then at a total cost of $21,965.00, They rebuilt the LuxY, LuxG, and Rs with new Flashlamps, and sent us a refurbished 1540 with a 10mm head. And also sent us Protocol and User manuals along with the required eyewear we did not get from Off Lease Laser. They were honest and knew how to correctly refurbish the equipment. After receiving the refurbished hand pieces from Sentient, the machine kept giving us a Error Code 24. I called the service tech to pickup the machine and do a complete cleaning and filter change ($1300.00). The lines were full of dirt, mold, and showed that machine was never serviced as stated by Off Lease Laser. The technician used temp see through fileters because he knew the extent of the dirt in the lines, and the filters would need to be changed in two more weeks after they captured some more dirt. Sure enough after two weeks the filters were full of dirt. Then shortly after that one of the chillers stopped working and had to be replaced at the cost of $2370.00. Then out of nowhere on 12-9-2013, I get a text message from Jose from Off Lease Laser Scam asking how we liked the machine. I stated all that we found, and told him about the money I had to spend to fix the machine. The last text from him was when I told him I knew was scammed by one of Sam Lehrer’s laser companies, and at that point the communication stopped. At a total additional repair cost so far of $65,235.00, we have a Starlux 500 with 300 hand pieces, no MaxG, and a fake Ys that should be a Y. The machine works, but is slow as *** because we are using 300’s and not 500’s. We totally got scammed by these guys. In order to make the machine be exactly what we purchased we will have to spend another $7367,50 to exchange our three 300 hand pieces for the real 500’s and spend another, $4900.00 to upgrade to a MaxG, and $3200.00 to upgrade to a Y to replace our fake labeled Ys. That brings us to a total of $80,702.50 to make the machine be exactly what we paid for as per our invoice from Off Lease Laser. That is double the cost at an extra $41,702.50 above the $39,000.00 that we paid Off Lease Laser. Yes ... we got screwed big time. We should have just bought one from a reputable company for $55,000.00 but at the time we did not know that Off Lease Laser was part of the SLLS (Sam Lehrer Laser Scam) as it has been named by past victims. So if you have been scammed also, contact us to add your story here. We will continue to add information to this site as our search bots contuine to search the internet and return hits and updates to any new websites they may have.
