GO SOMEHWERE ELSE!!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had made some finical errors right out of high school, and my credit suffered greatly form those mistakes. It took me several years to fix, but now I am in a good place.

With that, I had gotten approved for an auto loan through my credit union. I knew what my price point, loan stipulations, and estimated payments were. I had some minor reservations buying a newer used car as I didn’t really like the idea of having monthly payment for several years. The car I was driving at the time was old, and needed some major repairs.

I searched the internet for several weeks and made a list of cars that had fit my price point, lifestyle and seemed like a good buy. Several of those on my list were at Corwin Toyota. After deliberating for a few more weeks, I decided to bite the bullet and go check them out. I went in on a Saturday, with the plan of looking at the vehicles in person, and possibly test driving a few.

When I got there, only one of the cars on my list was still available, a 2008 Chevy impala LTZ. It was a really pretty red, with black leather interior, and a few bells and whistles that I liked. If you ever pulled into a dealer, you know that within two minutes, you have at least one sales person in your face. The sales person name was Brittney and she took me in and got my info.

Then she went and got the keys and took me out to the vehicle. I took it for a test drive and I knew right away that the wheel hub assemblies in the front would need to be replaced. We got back to the lot and I took a better look at the car. Along with the hub assemblies, I noticed that the rear tires were looking like they needed replacement as well.

I didn’t see any other signs of needed repair and I asked if there were any other major repairs that were needed. Brittney seemed sort of new, as with every time I asked a question, she would usually need to go ask and get the answer. Finally, another sales person came over and took over. He said that all of the cars in this car lot (the new cars and newer used cars) go through an inspection and if there was anything major wrong, they either fix them or the car isn’t even on this lot.

They said those cars go over to the wholesale lot. I have had the car for about two months and a month ago I went and took the car to Corwin to have a new owners inspection that costs $125, to see if there were anything major I needed to fix. This is the real horror here. After they were finished with the inspection, I found out that yes, indeed the front wheel hub assemblies were bad, OK.

Also the rear tires needed replacing, OK. Nothing I didn’t suspect. Then I find out that the front outter tie rods and inner tie rods were bad, the rear brakes and rotors were shot, the front shocks needed replacing, the water pump was bad, and that there were two MAJOR oil leaks. To fix these leaks, you have to remave half of the engine to fix. For a total of over $3000.00 in repairs needed, REALLY???

But Corwin inspects all of the cars??? I understand that I bought that car “as is”, but really? When I went looking to make a major purchase of a vehicle, I wanted to go to what I thought was a reputable car sales dealer. CORWIN IS NOT.

I thought, Corwin has been in the business for 100 yrs, they wouldn’t screw me, YUP!! Go elsewhere, if you want to be treated with honesty, professionalism, and integrity.

Corwin Toyota - 2003 Mazda 6 Car Review from Fargo, North Dakota

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought a used car,on thursday, when I test drove the car the check engine light was on. Upon agreement to purchase the car I was assured everything would be fixed.

I was told the o2 sensor was the cause of the light. 24 hours of having the car in my possession the light was back on,Friday night . I returned to corwin where I was informed the catalytic converter was going out and would eventually need to be replaced at 1000 plus. With a little research I found that if the o2 sensor has issues it's a sign of a troubled catalytic converter, they go hand and hand.

I feel stuck and taken advantage of being a single woman. I would not have bought the car if I knew this was not going to be fixed. Very disappointed with corwin and not standing behind there word that the car would be fixed. I in no way blame my sales person, for he can only relay what the monkeys in the shop ,relay to him, who think there machinics but really there IT and can only read the computer codes with no thinking or problem solving involved.

I also did call the manager who had not bothered to call me back. Never again will I go to any corwin and would advise others to keep on walking by.

I purchased two new cars and one 2012 Murano from Corwin since 1999. Also paid cash in full for the new cars. My last purchase was last week. (2012 Nissan Murano) The general manager followed up with a phone call asking if there was anything he could assist with. Sounded like he was reading from a script. I had a few things I liked taken care of. I believe his name was Duane Middleton? At any rate he never called me back. Wow is all I can say. Guess where we wont be buying our new cars next time? For someone in an industry of service your clearly missing your marks.

Also Cheryl Montgomery in the Finance Dept told my wife to "shut up" upon closing the paperwork. Unbelievable. Had I been there with her we clearly would have ended all possible buying options at that point. There are many places to spend our money, we will enjoy going elsewhere. Keepin in classy Corwin.

Never Again

Corwin Toyota Fargo ND Scam the Customers

I would like to share my recent bad experience with CORWIN TOYOTA, FARGO ND

I contact Corwin Toyota for price offer for leather interior of my car. They give me price offer of $1500.00 for leather interior of the car which includes front and back sits and the door cloth material replacement with leather. I did ask for samples of the leather they will use and I been shown different color nice leather samples. I was happy with the price and the leather I been shown and I did proceed with the order. At the day I when to pick up my car I was shocked to see that 85% of the material they used was synthetic material which look like leather but it is not leather. Next working day I when back to complain but I been neglected since then and they excuse them self that this is the manufacture way the car interior will be done. I did not ask for manufacture interior, My car is new and already had manufacture car interior, I did ask for custom car interior made from LEATHER, and I been shown Leather samples. No body show me any samples of synthetic materials which look like leather and no body inform me that there will be any synthetic materials included in the interior. And the worse thing is that the majority of the material they did use, 85% is synthetic material which looks like leather, but it is even not good quality. I did ask for Leather if I was informed that there will be used any synthetic materials I wouldn't proceed with the order. They did cheated me, showing me leather samples and promising me leather interior, but I did not receive what we negotiate at the day I order the service. Even my receipt state leather sits. I would like to mention that before proceeding with the order I did ask for every single detail of the car interior, and verify where exactly the leather will be installed, and I ask to see a sample of the leather which will be used for the car interior replacement. I would like to mention also that I been working with leather for many years and I can see the difference between leather and synthetic material which look like leather. I did visit 2 Leather shops in Fargo for appraisal and my doubts about the scam were proved. When I when for apprise in one of the shop and after when I mention my problem in front of friends I did understood that other people had the same complains. It look like this is common practice Corwin Toyota to scam customers installing synthetic material which look like leather instead installing leather according the agreement.

I'm not happy to pay for something I did not want!
