Review in Loans and Mortgages category from Glen Allen, Virginia
Do NOT trust this company with your home buying. They are the WORST, most disorganized company I've ever encountered.
They will waste your time, ask for paperwork you've already provided, miss your close date and then leave you hanging at the last possible minute. We found a better lender, with a lower interest rate!
Thankfully. They saved the day because Corridor Mortgage is terrible and nearly lost is the house...
Poor performance, loss of paper work, 5 months and 1400 dollars lost.
After being pre approved and qualified for a mortgage, turned into 5 months of lost paperwork (sent many times), different underwriter contacts, ( because they obviously quit), given several closing dates, then delayed, until i had already lost 1400 dollars in deposits, inspections and appraisals. would never, ever recommend this scam of a company to anyone...
i will be contacting my lawyer to recoup some of my monies lost. worst part, repairs needed to be made to the property and lender said after said repairs were done, I was subject to another $500 appraisal fee....
no thanks. Definitely a buyer beware situation.
- Not being kept in the loop
- And the disorganization
Preferred solution: Full refund
Corridor Mortgage Company - Denied Loan Review from Lutherville Timonium, Maryland
I'm not surprised to read the other complaint after my experiance with Corridor Mortgage and the loan officer, who boasted how great he was, and how lousy the other lenders I was considering were.
A full 7-weeks before my scheduled closing, I locked in my rate, applied and provided all the paperwork that the asked for.
I was told I was approved for my loan and not to worry about a thing. I didn't hear from anyone there until one week before I was supposed to settle, when I get a call from someone that there was a problem with my loan, and my "approved" loan was now denied.
I left at least a dozen messages for my "great" loan officer, who never returned my calls or emails, and all I got from the anyone I could get hold of was a shuck and jive routine.
My real estate agent had me talk to a lender he knew, who saved the day, and while I closed 10-days late, I we'd up with a better rate in the end. I would avoid Corridor Morgage at all costs.
Mortgage closer lost paperwork delaying our closing!
The buyer for our house used this closing co, and on the day we were to close, the closing agent informed us late in the day that he had lost the buyers separation agreement and that it needed to be overnighted from the buyers. When they provided the agreement, he said he couldn't read one page, the one unreadable page was faxed to him, then he said that the agreement wasn't what he needed. He/underwriting needed their court appointed separation agreement.
This office failed to communicate and confirm that they had the necessary documents for two days, and then they led us to believe that the closing would be rescheduled 3 days after the original losing, then changed their mind and at this point we have no closing date, because they needed more time for the documents to be reviewed by underwriting. We had a contract 6 weeks prior to this closing date. Assumably this office would have been gathering the necessary closing documents prior to the day of closing.
As they lost the separation agreement, it is my feeling that they should have accommodated us by rescheduling the closing date within 2 days of the original date. This has been a nightmare for us and the buyer, this group is unprofessional and unprepared.
