Don't waste your time with Cornerstone now the best employee is gone.

I used Cornerstone on two prior transactions and had a wonderful experience with Christian Griffin. Unfortunately when Christian Griffin departed the company to start his own firm the service went from 5 stars to 1 star. The CEO Erik Jorissen ended up being my point of contact after Christian Griffin departed and Erik was very unresponsive. It took multiple emails and phone calls to track him down anytime anything was needed for the transaction. Additionally, Erik wasted 8 days of my escrow period for a matter that should have been answered and resolved in 24 hours or less. As a business owner myself I'm shocked that the experience with the CEO of Cornerstone, Erik Jorissen, was 1 star vs the experience with his ex-employee Christian Griffin being 5 stars. Don't waste your time with Cornerstone now the best employee is gone.

TAX Nightmare!!!!

We did not have any problem through the mortgage process, except having to resend stuff numerous times, which was annoying. Our problem began when we received one of our tax bills and attempted to send it to Cornerstone. We were told to send it through the mail to a specified address, which we did in on the 13th of November. I went into our account in December and noted it still had not been paid so I called customer service and was told they did not have it. I somehow convenience the rep to go online and pull the statement into my account. After I got of the phone I went straight to Office Depot and faxed the document as well to make double sure they received, since the bill was due in Dec. I waited 3 days, as instructed by customer service and called back, while also logged into my account. When I logged in I realized they had paid the bill, however it was not the correct amount. After further investigation, I realized they had paid my neighbors tax bill from my account NOT mine. They had the wrong GEO ID so they were off my one digit. I tried to explain this to the customer service rep who advised that she would send a message to the tax group and they would straighten it out, "please wait 3 days to call back." What!!! We are fast approaching the end of the month. Fast forward to Jan, nothing got corrected in Dec. I login on the tax website to find that they are now reimbursing my neighbor the money that was sent from my account!!! I contacted the taxing authority and explained the situation, they really don't care, they just want their money. Somehow through all my phone calls and emails they have finally deducted the correct amount out of my escrow to pay the taxing authority, however the taxing authority still has not received it. Also, they have yet to return the original money they pulled from my escrow which they used to pay my neighbors taxes. As of today, payment is still hasn't arrived and late fees are due to the taxing authority and I was told by Cornerstone that I could fax them that bill and they would pay it. Here's the question: Where is the money for the late fees coming from? (Better not be my account) Will they actually receive the invoice? (I don't have faith) I always pay my mortgage on time and I would expect them to pay my tax payments on time and correctly!!! Signed: Angry Mortgage Customer
