Verified Reviewer |Title: Fraudulent billing, abusive emails, and lost my purchased phone number
- - Copycall took control of a paid phone number, lost access, fraudulently billed me, and sent abusive emails instead of resolving the issue.
Fraudulent billing, abusive emails, and lost my purchased phone number. I paid Copycall for a phone number service.
They took control of the number, then lost it and refused to properly resolve the issue. They fraudulently billed me, and I had to recover my money through my bank. After disputing, they sent abusive and hostile emails instead of resolving the situation professionally. This company: Took control of a phone number I paid for, lost access to the number, fraudulently billed me, refused proper resolution, sent abusive communications.
I had to involve my bank to recover my money.
This company should not be trusted with phone numbers or billing access. Serious warning to anyone considering using Copycall.
Preferred solution: No one should use this fraudulant, abusive, scam
Terrible customer service
- - Billing statements were ambiguous and lacked a bill number.
- - The business is a one-man operation run by David with poor communication.
I was a customer of this company, which apparently is run by a one man show, called David. I had more than one account, so when I got my bill, it didn't mention anything about what number it was for.
I like to keep an accounting of everything, and this was an ambiguous billing statement.
When I asked him to provide me some details of my bill, which didnt even include the basic number I am paying for, he kept giving excuses. Of course if a business is completely run by a one man show, how can you even trust this company. And his behavior in reference to customer is worse than pathetic, his communication is worse than a teenager who is mad at his parents.for his fault. Stay away from this terrible tiny one man company.
If you do, you are doing at your own risk of either losing your number, or you are up to anything this one man feels like dolng.
I told this to many that I know already. His service might be cheap, but his behaviour is also extremely cheap.
- Cheap
- Not worth it

Never miss a payment
- - Forwarding number in ads was canceled after my card was compromised; late notice led to sale and ad cancellations; BBB has an F rating.
I had a forwarding number with them for several months. The number was on my advertising. While I was on vacation the card I used to pay copycall was compromised and had to be cancelled. I unintentionally forgot to contact copycall because it took a couple of weeks to get a replacement card.
Copycall sent one email and a few minutes later a cancellation. By the time I returned from vacation and read the email it was too late, the number was already sold to someone else and all of the advertising materials had to be cancelled and thrown away.
It's my fault for not contacting them, but there wasn't a reason to ridicule me for my mistake. One email wasn't adequate notice before cancelling the same day. It didn't allow enough time to correct the issue.
But this wasn't the end of the story. When I contacted the representative, Dave was rude and ridiculing me with every reply. He even thought is was hilarious that I lost thousands of dollars on advertising.
Then I checked with the Better Business Bureau. They have an "F" rating with an abundance of complaints... I can see why!

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
Don't waste your time
Took money out of bank account and shut off service.
This company sucks.
Shockingly bad service
- - The card replacement page had no authentication.
- - Responses were unhelpful and rude, with little follow-up on security or blocking.
My credit card was changed due to fraud. The page to replace it did not have any authentication on it, so I enquired how to securely change my credit card.
The answer: I don't know. My response: Wow. Their response "Take off your tin foil hat". My response, I'll ask my controller to take care of it, put it on a corporate card.
His response: Tell your controller to get service elsewhere. You annoy me.
If it weren't so sad that the guy running the company was so miserable, it would be funny. But I kinda' feel sorry for him.
Had a previous interaction with him about whether or not we could block certain numbers. He said he's check with the provider, that each provider was different.
Heard nothing for quite a while so I followed up.
Response was a terse "No." Definitely had the tone that he never tried. I could be wrong.
- Ease of set up
- Dave
Preferred solution: Find another provider or just use Asterisk
Works great for me
- - I used to pay for an after-hours service; now it's $5/month with email messages.
- - It stalled once, but quick email support fixed it in a few hours.
I saw there are a few bad ratings so I thought I would give my experience. Been using it for a while now.
Used to pay a lot for professional answering service for after hours emergencies. Now I get the messages instantly to my phone by email for $5/month. It stopped working once and at first I was a little upset that there was no one to call but I opened a help ticket on the website and someone got right back to me via there ticket system.
They stayed in contact via email while trouble shooting which actually turned out to be way more convenient for me than a bunch of phone calls. They got it back up in a couple of hours and has been working great ever since.

I had almost the exact same experience. Dave is a very miserable person to deal with.
