Cool Cabana's Loungers are a Terrible Product
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ... Cool Cabana offered a great Black Friday Sale ...
and then, in my opinion, screws the heck out of you. They offered a pair of Beach Loungers with a $100 savings. It sounded like a fabulous deal, so I bit and ordered the pair. When they arrived, my grief began.
I found warning labels. One stated that you can not weigh over 200lbs. I presume that means the majority of Americans would collapse the chair if they were to sit on it. In addition, there is no means of locking the lower section in place.
Should an adult sit on that area, it would definitely collapse and possibly permanently ruin the lounger. Then my mind went further and I thought, OH MY GOD, what would happen if an infant or small child were to crawl on to that section of the lounger. It might collapse hurting or suffocating the child. I saw this as such a dangerous consequence that I contacted Cool Cabana's customer service department.
They informed me that their policy was to issue a refund ONLY IF THE BUYER PAYS $25 PER CHAIR FOR RETURN SHIPPING LABELS AND THEN AGREES TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING DEDUCTED FROM THE REFUND. Simply, I took this to mean that on my $158 purchase, Cool Cabanas would only refund about $58. That sucks ! So I went on a letter writing campaign with them.
After multiple exchanges they finally agreed to pay for the return shipping but still wanted to charge me for the original shipping. That, in my mind meant I was going to receive a refund of only $108 or LESS. I tried to reason with the customer service department but they have now cut off all communications.
In my mind, Cool Cabanas is no longer a reliable firm and does not respect it's customer base. ***** LET THE BUYER BEWARE *****
Preferred solution: Full refund
