We made a reservation in advance to celebrate Peru's independence day. My wife got to the restaurant first and sat at the bar.
When I arrived (early), they refused to give us a table because they had a "bigger party coming in". They did offer to "serve" us at the tiny bar or give us a table Outside in the side walk (in the humid heat). We sat up and left. The hostess seemed upset.
I am sure it's not her fault, these are policies from management in a tired, cliche effort of a lot of restaurants in the area desperately trying to look "trendy" by giving preferences to larger younger and noisier crowds.
They forget that good customer service is what makes or breaks restaurants and other businesses.
I know. Despite the inflated reviews, this place does not seem on a good path and may join the huge cemetery of NYC restaurants post pandemic.
Neither myself nor my closest friends (who are actual pillars in their communities), will go back.
