Worst experience ever
First they send my modem to wrong address. Gave me a track number for Fedex (actually it's by purolator), so I had no way to trace it.
Then the technician told me everything is set but after I pickup the modem myself I found that the DSL light is not on. Called the 800 number it's a Quebec company and their office is closed. So I have to wait another 3 days. Who knows what will happen.
Very frustrated experience. I regretted that I should have use some big company instead of trying saving few dollars.
Right now I am in the tim horton since I have a very important meeting to attend. :(
Bait and switch - contact.net
No upfront mention of the $100 installation fee. The install fee is shown at the last moment when you are actually in the process of ordering. It is termed as "Installation Fees" even if you opt for your own modem.
Requested clarification from them and was told that this is an "inscription" fee - whatever that means.
The website advertises misleading prices which do not mention this price anywhere in any of the plans.
After you click on order, and make your selections, there is a installation option. That option is shown even if you have your own modem.
Typical bait and switch tactic.
Fradulent advertising of $17.95/mth for 100G/mth aoth $100 installation fee
I have signed up for the service after checking number avalability, submitting my credit card info, address and plan signed up for.
They came back to me telling me this service is only available in Ontario & that the company name is actually AEI in Quebec. This is not what I signed up for.
They will not honor there website or price.
They tell me this plan is not available in Quebec YET it was clear the Quebec phone number I checked for availability passed & the billing passed with my Quebec address & postal code. This company is clearly fradulent is their advertising & will not offer me the service after sending me a confirmation email of the billing that passed.

its pretty common knowledge that all ISPs in ontario have a set-up/install fee. It is the cost to send a technician out to your home to turn your DSL line on, or install a "dryloop".
Your modem has nothing to do with it. After reading your review i checked them out, and the install fee is one of the first options in the signup form. there is a 1 time fee of $100 or you can pay a monthly fee of $10/month. Either way it still ends up being the best prices in the Toronto by far.
Am looking at a few other options right now, but will most likely signup today since I haven't seen a better price anywhere. There lack of sales support (no number on website) is a bit troubling, but I have been in touch with one of their reps through redflagdeals and he has been great!
