I called Consumer Cellular to discontinue my service and was assured that no more would be withdrawn from my bank account. After being charged again, my account went into 'overdrawn' status, and I was told by each Consumer Cellular Rep. that I was "given misinformation" by their other representatives!!! Consumer cellular didn't have an answer why there is no service when I use try to make calls in certain areas in state. ATT towers although red in CC map will not pick up calls. To eliminate service, I can't keep my same number. Is it worth it?

You may have heard the (self produced) accolades about Consumer Cellular. Please do yourself a favor and shop around. If you ever have a reason to call their customer service you will find them next to useless. Right out of the gate they are looking at a way to avoid accepting ownership of any issues you may be having. Not our app., not our OS, not our anything. You may have heard the (self produced) accolades about Consumer Cellular phone service. Don't believe any of it. Do yourself a favor and shop around. If there is ever a need to contact their customer service you will find them pretty much useless. I called to complain about the apps updating while I had the data feature disabled... not our apps...not our OS...not our anything. In all fairness to the service techs their ability to solve some difficult issues have always awed me with their expertise. Several times my service problems required thinking "outside the box" and with having experience these tech agents were able to get me back in service. I was a customer for almost 2 years. Usage figures on my phone never agreed with information on my computer. They arbitrarily increased my talk and data limits (for increased $$) without my permission. It is a way for them to increase charges. I was paying $62 monthly and was never happy with the service. Being out of the USA from December to February and having paid my account in full as per normal, I requested that for the current cycle of January 6th. to February 6th that my account be SUSPENDED, I was told that the policy was to cancel the account and I may reinstate on the 7th. I purchased my IPhone 5 through Consumer Cellular. It's worked okay except for the poor quality of AT&T towers in our area. Lots of dropped calls, no service etc. Two days ago it really began having problems: I couldn't send texts, I was calling and leaving voicemails and the person never got them. Consumer cellular is'a ripoff.company..l cancelled after just a few months. Was given asurances account was cancelled they continued to take payments from my bank account for 2 months After numeerous calls l never was credited..gaveup..check their reveies avg 2 stars..aarp continues'to put full page ads in their paper. Why do you have an elderly couple with a half-breed kid? Just what is it you are trying to prove anyway? Walmart tried an AD close to yours and it failed. It seems like certain type of companies are trying to start something that is not working. All ADs are suppose to be informative, not insulting!
