Unable to reach live person

AI Highlights
  • - Spent over 20 minutes in the call tree and never spoke to a live person.
  • - It is disappointing not to reach anyone with a question.

Spent over 20 minutes in call tree and never spoke to live person finally gave up. Although this does not surprise me being it is a state office. It is still very disappointing to not be able to talk to someone if you only have a question.

User's recommendation: Get rid of phone tree and have more live people

Absolutely joke is all I can say. Disputing "fraud" for a year now, no timely response, can't get info from anyone, trying to find a someone is nearly impossible.

  • - Denied unemployment benefits midway.
  • - Took my full benefits and tax return.
  • - Left me with nothing this winter; two phone hearings, no mail.
Updated by user Dec 27, 2023

Nothing has been resolved at this point. I've contacted the DOL Advocacy group and commissioner to no avail.

Original review Dec 20, 2023

Was denied unemployment benefits half way through the lay-off period. Took my whole amount plus every dime of my income tax return.

Left me with nothing during winter. Left numerous messages with DOL commissioner and not one reply.

Had 2 phone hearings, not one piece of mail about anything. This system is obsolete and useless.

$6

Preferred solution: Full refund

DOL inefficiency

Updated by user Jan 19, 2024

Nothing has been solved, I'm not interested in answering anymore questions and emails either at this point. Either someone can actually assist me or stop wasting my time.

Original review Dec 20, 2023

Ongoing unemployment benefits dispute. Don't file unless absolutely necessary, do your homework to avoid being left with nothing and end up homeless.

Having an issue since last month

AI Highlights
  • - I waited a week to speak with a rep, and they hung up.
  • - I still don't know the issue with my claim and I want a call back.

I waited a week to speak with a rep she took all my info then hung up on me I should not have to wait a week to get disconnected and I still don't know the issue with my claim. This phone system is very unpleasant the representatives are not doing their job if the phone disconnected how about you call the person back

Pros:
  • Access to funds
Cons:
  • Messed up phone system

Preferred solution: I would like for a representatives to take their class over and be more responsible for failing their clients, customers, and any other of interest I would like to find out what is the issue with my claim

User's recommendation: Ct dept of labor is failing its customers

Same thing happened to me. My case has been pending for over a week.

I called to check the reason why.

He told me that to create a new claim and hung up. No chance to asked him why if I already create one.

File weekly claim issue

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Tried to reach a human on the CT DOL line; portal won't let me file weekly claims.
  • - Filed claim ~3 wk ago; portal says I didn’t file last week.

Hi to whom it may concern,

I have been trying to get in contact with a human to speak through but it has been difficult on the CT dol call line. I filed my unemployment claim about 3 weeks ago and have been trying to file my weekly claim on the portal but it would not let me do so.

When I click on "file your weekly claim" on the portal it says that I didnt file the week before even though I did. I just want help knowing when I may receive benefits & how I can continue to file my weekly claim since the portal practically wont let me at the moment.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

This exact thing has happened to me this is now my second time except this time I’ve been locked out and now they’re telling me that I have to re-open the claim even though I did file my claim but the computer says that I did not like I said this is happened once before and they fixed it now I’m four weeks behind on unemployment with no checks coming in and have to wait and cannot get in contact with any life person the system is so messed up and I’m beyond frustrated and can’t pay my bills and don’t even have money to live day-to-day at this point because I was thinking this would be resolved since it was not my fault!! Worst costumer service ever!
