Unwanted Service Additions (just like Wells Fargo scams)

Connect Americamailed 5 pages of fine print attached to a large printcover page to my 91 year old mother. This notice was "thanking her for subscribing" to an extra service at $5.00 / mo (in addition to her regular health alert system.) She had done no such thing!

Furthermore they said she could cancel this service, but only within 7 days or else she would incur a cancellation charge. Thereafter, they would continue to automatically bill her for the additional charges.

This unethical practice just reeks of elder abuse. I would never choose this *** company and regret my sister forced her sign up for the initial service from these predators.

Medic Alert; great concept, lousy service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Medic Alert, (Connect America), seems to be more about sales than service. The product itself works, as long as you have a good cell signal.

God help you if you're dealing with a customer service rep. I repeatedly asked them to correct information on the account, including current cc info. The calls just kept coming. Two weeks after having a rep close the account & returning the system, I get a call from a "Senior Account Manager" in collections about the account cc being expired.

Their system is dis-functional, disjointed, and their phone reps are poorly trained. Had I been given the proper information the first time, no further action would have been required.

Don't use them. There are plenty of options.
