I bought a computer that broke and company was not able to fix

Computer Planet is, by far, the worst possible place you could go to buy anything. Basically, they'll attract you with cheap prices, and give you an even cheaper quality product. My experience so far has been terrible.

The PC I bought broke apprx. 4 months in (BSOD), and so I emailed them about it. I send the PC in. The problem was that they put in a faulty PSU and it fried the motherboard (so they tell me). I kept chasing them up about it, and they kept telling me it would be deliverd on xxx date - never got a straight answer out of them.

The unit never arrived when it was supposed to, and finally over a month later it arrived. Ok, not so bad; but after connecting it up, it turns out that instead of fixing the unit, they broke it even further - Now I cant view anything on the screen, so I wrote them an email to express my frustration. To which they replied by sending me a tracking notice so that I can track my product. I DONT WANT TO TRACK MY PRODUCT I WANT IT FIXED AND I WANT YOU TO READ THE EMAIL FOR ONCE. So I've sent it in AGAIN, and we shal wait and see what happens.

The worst thing about them is, they will never answer your questions on the email, they have templates that they send out, and they are not available over the phone, so its all a matter of just keep sending in your computer and hoping they get it right this time.

BOTTOM LINE: I'm out at least £50 on courier fees, which i could have spent on buying a decent computer. Not to mention the fact that I am now in an internet cafe to use a computer, and the frustration i've experienced trying to get quesitons answered by people who don't even read your emails.

WORST CONSUMER EXPERIENCE EVER!

I can only support this opinion with my own experience, and my experience really is near to pressing the charges. These people will exchange the components you originally choose, of course in their favour, even if you did not allow that.

They will take your smaller disk with reasonable performance, and will give you a bigger one of such a low quality, that there is no use for it, and they will call it a bonus. They will downgrade everything to save (their own) money and maximize the profit. After 2 weeks wait, they will send symbolic mail, asking if you agree with some changes, and will go for it, even if you did not approve - nothing. You don't reach anybody to discuss the matter personally, ever.

A few meaningless messages will be exchanged. The reason for being late with the production seems to be the hope, that by the time the very production will start, you will agree with everything - while tired of waiting, feeling lucky that you actually get something. The workmanship will be terrible, switches on the case will be upside down. Cable routing will be a nightmare.

If you went for higher degree computer, these people will get very close to wasting a wonderful components (if anything wonderful left after downgrading) without your knowledge, thus stealing your money. The web site will look nice, but works politically with the prices. Price of the component will depend on overall system you will be building.

Computer Planet disappointed me big time. I recommend to avoid this company.
