They stole from me
- - Compass van lines took $6500 and won't refund.
- - They promised to be there, but disappeared after I paid a deposit.
Compass van lines scammed me. They took $6500 from me and wont give it back. Chris from Compass is the ultimate thief. He will promise you the moon and stars and then disappear. They will send you a *** one star mover who will then try to charge you three times the original estimate. They are liars and crooks and criminals. Stay far away. I am including their names and cell numbers so you dont get scammed like I did.

They promised to be there every step of my move and as soon as I gave them a deposit, they were gone. Stay far away! Pls contact me if you have been scammed by them, I am working on getting the news to do a story on them.
Preferred solution: Full refund

- - Thanks to Daniel and the crew.
What a great experience! I have used professional movers in the past and have never seen a crew that dissassembled the furniture as well as wrapping everything and padding our doorway and floors so well.
These guys were great! I was impressed with the quality work. Thank you Daniel and your crew for not breaking anything! Your attention to detail and the excellent care that was taken with my items was not only impressive but ensured that nothing was damaged when it arrived.
Not a scratch or broken dish. What a great job!

I had to move from Austin to San Antonio. Compass Van Lines gave me the best quote and Annie promised me superb service.
I was very happy with everything! Oleg and Chris were very professional. They arrived on-time and loaded everything quickly. I was impressed by how well they wrapped the furniture! They were careful not to scratch the furniture or the walls. I would recommend them to anyone moving! Thanks for a great move guys!
What was most impressive was the method in which they wrapped each piece of furniture before carrying it out to the truck. What a great team!
Excellent Experience
- - Moved me from Florida to Round Rock; friendly and helpful.
- - Compass stored items for free.
- - They wrapped furniture and protected doorways.
These guys moved me recently from Florida to my new home in Round Rock. They were very friendly and helpful and did a great job.
I had to move out at the end of October and my new home wasn't available until the 15th of November. Compass stored my items for me for FREE and when everything arrived there was nothing broken.
They even took extra precautions to wrap my furniture and protect the doorways when they moved everything. Overall I had a great experience, these guys were great and I would recommend them to anyone who is moving.
Broke and ruined everything purposely
- - The binding quote was 3,360 lb with full insurance.
- - They demanded extra money, specifically $1,250 over the quote.
- - TV crushed; Dyson missing; items damaged.
I received a quote from compass vanlines for 3,360 pounds. I previously had a bad move so I made sure to request a binding estimate, full insurance and verify that they were not a broker.
They agreed to all of these before taking my money. Upon picking my stuff up from my POD in Florida, they called me and started demanding extra money out of me saying I had more stuff than I told them. First they asked for an extra $1100, then when I told them I was broke and was giving them all I had to move, they said we will see if we can lower it to $600 then. I still told them no and they then raised it to be $1250 over what we originally agreed upon of $2258.61.
They started threatening me and cussing at me saying they would keep my stuff in their storage until I would pay them in full. Then they threatened to throw my stuff in the parking lot of the PODS facility if I don't pay them now. I have signed statements from the manager at Pods as to the happenings on this day. I had PODS weigh my stuff so that I could use some credible movers to come clean up this mess, my stuff only weighed 2,860 pounds, exactly 500 less than my binding quote with Compass Van Lines which they said I was far over - proving that they were just scamming me for extra money.
I had my brand new sectional pieces individually wrapped up, they took off the wrapping and packed it into boxes and proceeded to throw them around, causing large tears and scrapes all over them. My 42" LCD tv was thrown, the LCD screen crushed and is non operable despite being wrapped in 2 blankets and being crated. My $550+ Dyson DC17 serial#260-us-h75210 was not returned when they brought my stuff back, and after unpacking I have noticed many other missing things such as all my underwear/lingere, my flute and some wall hangings/picture paintings. They tore a screwed in leg off of my bar cabinet which will need repair before it can even stand upright again, the entire corner of it was hit and is cracked open with a chunk of wood hanging off.
They ripped a door half way off my china hutch, broke a light inside and somehow managed to burn the electrical cords to it. Trim was broken off my desk and is half way off my matching filing cabinet, 2 full sets of dishes broken, 2 broken mirrors, broken antique jewelry box, my newly refinished table was gouged far below the stain in multiple spots and dragged on the floor on one full side removing all of the finish and down into the wood and the bolts to the legs of the table were all bent and in need of repair before they can fit back into the table. In addition, numerous small things such as candles, vases and nic nacks were broken.
Its a given that a few things will get broken or scraped during a move, but I feel I was personally attacked when I wouldn't give into their scamming me for extra money.
I had to have everything re packed and put back together by a moving company.
I also have a signed statement as to the way my things were before this moving company moved my stuff, and also how it was purposely put back in disarray and in complete carelessness.
