Worse.Parental and Purchasing protection codes once set are deleted completely once there is a power surge or power outage.

Nothing is printed in all the mountain of literature you get when signing up. It appears this dropping of protection originates a slew of premium channel offers, movie offers on your screen, mainly at commercial or whenever you change a channel. You are further not instructed of this happening at installation, when asked why, response was "installers are there to install and move on to next client". I have witnessed with a senior how difficult it is to get back to your show and get the offers off your screen.

Most often they are charged with a new movie or premium channel they have no idea how they ordered. They do not allow you to correct this problem unless you know you old code, cannot setup new one without old one, have to take box to their store for exchange. They will not store your code number in house. For a company this large and is suppose to have a secure web site, this is ridiculous.

Direct TV maintains all settings, actually renews them, even if you have power outage for hours.

No changes ever without your involvement.If they can do it, why not Comcast/Xfinity??
