Stihl is a dependable product
Dependable? Maybe you got lucky but I did not.
The MS390 that I am stuck with was a real looser and has become a dust collector. For most manufactured products the 'Bell-Shaped Curve' applies but lately Stihl had been skewed negatively.
The company wants customers to believe that is not true and wants to profit on their past good reputation. As more complaints become known, Stihl will become a Homelite, Remington, McCulloch...of the industry.
There is no comparisons between Husqvarna and Stihl. Stihl is backed by their customer service department whereas Husqvarna has none in the US.
If you need warranty service on an HQ product you are screwed. You have to take it to an authorized dealer and they will tell you they do not do warranty work because they are not reimbursed for it. I have several emails from my local Husqvarna dealers stating as such. I have never experienced this problem in my 60 years with any company.
The bottom line is that Husqvarna may give a warranty on their products but it isn't worth the paper printed on when you need it. What an eye opener this whole process has been for me as a consumer.
