Hughes normally kept their speed the same while surfing the net. Viasat does not.

Sometimes there is no speed available and there is no weather interference or other factors; it just simply slows so pages time out instead of loading.

Hughes charges too much to work on their own equipment, even if the installation was faulty, and of course getting to talk to a supervisor is impossible until after you cancel their service. Frankly, there seems to be no good alternative for those of us who choose to live outside metro areas, but in my opinion, Hughes is the better of tow evils.
