Many years ago, GEICO made the same "mistake" (probably out of necessity $$$-wise) to leave their core group (government employees only - that is what GE means) of more stable, honest, etc. subscribers and, at the time, went through the same "STUFF" USAA is suffering right now. You open it up to everyone and use contractors instead of employees who feel a connection to members and you get the mess that is going to eventually lose USAA many of their longtime members.
