I want to rescind my earlier comments about Luna flooring. They came back and completed the job to my satisfaction.
Luna and Empire are both owned by H.I.G Capital, an investment firm. Some back end support such as credit processing and warranty claims are handled by one office.
However, their sales operations, by law, remain separate. Product offerings are different as well. The myth of Empire "owning" Luna is perpetuated by Empire sales reps, who tell prospects that "We own Luna.
We're the same company with the same stuff so you don't need to see those guys". They're actually fierce competitors.

They are the same as far as I am concerned. Empire installed carpet for me years ago and I had the same problem.
That is why I chose Luna this time.
Not knowing that they had merged. I will never buy any kind of flooring from either one of them.
