Both are the same, in my town, we only have Direct TV or Dish network. They are no better. I live in the country there is no alternatives.

I have no knowledge of Dish Network. Therefore, I can not compare the two.

We've had DirecTV for 20 years. I've never had Dish, but have heard they're no better, and in some cases, worse than DirecTV.

We live in the country, and, unfortunately, there are no other alternatives of which I am aware, in terms of either satellite or cable.I CAN say that I'd like to find another alternative, because, other than the programming they offer, I think DirecTV is awful. Especially in recent years, perhaps since they became part of AT&T (whose customer service sucks also) DirecTv's customer service has become more of a hindrance than a help. It's obvious that their customer service is comprised entirely of people whose first language is not English. In some cases, it's impossible to understand what they're saying.

And so, getting a problem resolved is always a challenge and sometimes takes more than one call. We spent almost two hours on the phone, talking with and being transferred by several customer service agents, just trying to find out why the technician had not shown up and why they could not get another technician out until a week later. Never got the problem resolved, so we still have no DirecTV service.

By the time the rescheduled technician gets here .... IF he gets here, we will have been without service for TEN DAYS.

I would switch from directv to dish but dish doesn't offer the local sports channels directv does which is a deal breaker

Dish service sucks. Continually goes out.

Missed PGA playoff and Super Bowl today.

*** poor service. I pay $100 per month NOT to watch TV.

Dish all the way. When you cancel directv it’s common they say you never sent back your receivers & bill you $500+

I've looked at Dish as an alternative to DirecTV. Nothing I've seen gives me any confidence in them.

Their reviews actually seem to be worse than DirecTV's.

While on the surface their programming appears less expensive, to get the spread of channels I want they are actually more expensive than DirecTV. Their sports options do not compare favorably.

Bottom line seems to be that all of the satellite TV companies have gone down the tubes; profit comes first, customers come last.

They are about the same No Caparison They both Do False Advertising to get customers, They both up the Price when you sign up, Upgrades are not free like they say..They Both are the Worse Nightmare A Person can deal with when talking to Customer Service Reps. Most of them sound like Foriengers no offense but you can't hardly understand what they are saying ,I think Im going to find me some Rabbit ears like my Dad had Back in the day on our one TV. Sometimes my oldest brother would put foil on it to get Extra Channels.

Then We Upgraded to The Antenna . But We didn't have to deal with All this Crazy Price hiking Pain in the Yes Sir.God is Good.

I have been a Directv customer for 8 years, since the merger with at&t I have had nothing but issues, my bill just jumped up 70+ dollars and have been given multiple different excuses why, none of which were valid, authorized or previously a billable occurance throughout service history. My services are worse than ever and now so is customer support.

I have actually been hung up on by more than one representative and in one instance spent an hour on the phone with an assistant who throughout the duration of the troubleshoot was beligerant, rude and beyond inappropriate.

I am done with their services, what a shame. Watching an empire disintegrate into dust but I will no longer be a part of it's devastation...good bye Directv!

I have the same problem as you. Direct TV sucks, and don't get me started on their customer service.

Each time you call you have to talk to different people. Last week, I asked the so called supervisor to give me her supervisor, she hung up on me. All their companies are overseas, so you sure don't get an American customer service. They must get paid 7.00 an hour.

I have never spoke to an American. I wished I could get an address for this stupid company.

When my contract is over, I am done with them. Never ever again.

Direct TV has better HD and clarity. However, their satellite internet (all we can get where we live) is atrociously slow.

(3 MPS download). Their "2 yr. price guarantee" is a joke that is not funny.

Know many, many people who have been mislead by them.

Bottom line is-both know they have a monopoly in the satellite business and they really don't seem to care how they treat their customers when it comes to pricing or customer service.

The FFC turns their heads on both.

I do know that in many ways Direct TV is better, because it has its recording to where you can record without it interfering the current show Im watching I can also watch my record movies on all tvs with dish, you can only watch them on the main receivers, I can also record in the bedroom, and with dish you cannot, I would have to get up go turn dish tv on in main room if I see a movie I have been wanting to watch while im on the bedroom TV, , I also like direct tv because it gives me a lot of recording hours, with dish tv it doesnt give me alot of hours of recording time, so in my option direct tv is a better buy.

I do not know ANYTHING about dish network other than the fact that they dropped NEWSMAX which in my opinion is ONE OF THE SORRIEST DECISIONS THEY EVER MADE. Ironically, it comes at a time when consumers need to hear the truth about Hilary Clinton & her lying escapades.

It proves the Direct TV is nothing more than a liberal piece of s--t company. I do not support them & will tell EVERYONE NOT TO SUPPORT THEM EITHER!!!
