I've never dealt with Centurylink but I've dealt with many, many telcos. Southern phone is the worst telco I've ever dealt with...

and i've dealt with Optus, Telstra, Vodafone, Activ8teme, IINET, etc, etc Do not, under any circumstances, engage in a service with Southern Phone. And if you're currently with Southern Phone I'd advise you to cut your losses and end dealings with them as soon as you can, as from what i've learned, you're bound to get burned. Just once story: I've been paying for a service they can't reliably provide; they won't provide logs or proof whether it works, and they won't escalate issues to NBN co even though they acknowledge it's appropriate and say they will. It's been almost a year and they've done nothing but take hours and hours of our lives on the phone, on zendesk, and even hang up on us because they "didn't like our tone" when we asked if we could cancel the service.

So, don't say you weren't warned! :D
