It is not reasonable to simply say one is or might be better or worse than the other.Each offers varying levels of security for equally varied aspects of internet activity; then one should consider platforms and systems.

For example Windows XP SP3 is not well (if at all) supported any longer by Kaspersky but Bitdefender claims to perform well on XP and vista although there are significant caveats as far as processor and memory are concerned. The point is these judgements are and always will be subjective.

I have used both for XP and found them to be disastrous as far impacting computer performance is concerned, especially so for Bitdefender whose customer support is equally disastrous.Not sure about Kaspersky's customer service - if they read and speak English that would put them streets ahead of Bitdefender straight away.
