We have ordered from Zenni for the past five years, with no problems. Unfortunately, the company changed how they produce their progressive lenses.
I had to return the new pair I ordered because of what they call 'watermarks.' These watermarks are etching on each lens. These etchings were visible to the naked eye and I felt like I always had spots or blurry spots in my vision. It was not until I was cleaning my lenses (with the highest protection on each lens, by the way), that I saw these markings. I returned the glasses back, picked a new pair and sent a message to make sure my new pair did not have these markings again.
After several calls and talking to several employees and supervisors, I finally got a refund. The company could NOT guarantee that these etchings would not be visible again. I am so disappointed, as we had been loyal customers for five years. I do not understand why an eyeglass company would change their lenses and leave these watermarks.
I see a potential issue for the company because of this terrible decision. Why a manufacturer would explain that they put the watermarks on the lenses because another vision place could see the lenses are progressives, is ridiculous. The etchings are small circles, plus signs, and circles with a plus sign inside that are on both the right and left side of each lens and in the peripheral vision areas. I still cannot understand why these watermarks make any sense!?
Of the ten pairs we own from Zenni, this new manufacturing process for progressives was a terrible decision! Even the plastic on the pair I returned was so cheaply made.
The quality overall from Zenni has decreased by about 80%. We now need to find another manufacturer for our glasses.
