When I signed up my daughter at YouFit they tried to make me pay a 39.99 maintenance fee. I told them their ad said $10 down $10 a month.

They told me if I upgraded to the $20 a month plan I could pay the 39.99 later. After going back and forth they finally agreed to first and last month and I would pay the maintenance at a later time. They also very clearly told me that if I were to cancel at anytime I would be responsible for the 39.99. Nothing else was said regarding canceling.

My daughter decided she would rather go with me to my gym so we went in to cancel. They then told me I had to pay $63.00. I asked why? It should be the 39.99 plus $10 fee for closing.

So that's 49.99 where is the extra money coming from. They told me I had to pay for this month. I told them I paid the last month when I signed up. They said I didn't come in 10 days before my monthly due date so I would have to pay this month and next month would be my last month.

So now I am paying for a gym I am canceling. I asked to speak to a manager Gabriel who was not nice and cold and didn't care. He actually told me that had I come in 3 days earlier I wouldn't have had to pay the maintenance fee or the monthly fee. I would have only paid $10 to close the account.

I had been putting off closing the account because they told me I had to pay the maintenance fee to close it regardless, they never disclosed that I could close it before the maintenance was due and not have to pay it. They told me it takes 30 days to close an account, which doesn't sound correct at all and only serves to allow them to bill an extra month. The account was in my 16 year old's name and he threatened to put her in collection and that if I didn't pay it would destroy her credit. Their sales people are not trained they have to ask someone else every time you have a question and then the answer isn't correct as I found out $63 later.

Aside from the money they were mean, nasty and sarcastic.

As I left I was visibly upset and they smirked and said "Have a nice day". After this experience I can see why so many people are pissed off at YouFit
