ValueMags - Unscrupulous
Got two People mags on September 24, 2016. One that I subscribed to, and one that had a different expiration date as well as my name spelled incorrectly.
I called People and they said it was through Value Mags, and that the representative couldn't cancel it. The representative from People gave me Vale Mags 800 number; I called the number and they were closed. Got the e-mail address from the 800 number menu. I sent an e-mail on September 25, 2016 which was returned as being undeliverable.
I never sign up for magazines except through the magazine itself. This is already smelling like SCAM! If I find out which retailer I recently ordered from gave me a "free" magazine I'll let you know, as I will quit doing business with that retailer.
When People magazine representatives tell you they deal with this problem all of the time, you know you are not dealing with a legitimate company.
Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.
Monetary Loss: $100.
Preferred solution: Cancel this subscription immediately, ensure this isn't an automatic renewal for which I will be billed (hence the $100) and let me know who put in the alleged "free" subscription..

Finally got through to this company. They said someone I ordered something from paid for a People subscription for me until January, 2017.
People has still not stopped the 2nd magazine to my home and it is unclear if I will be billed for a subscription in January (my subscription that I ordered expires 8-17).
Value mags would not tell me which company gave me the "free" magazine (no body ever asked me if I wanted anything "free" and I never sign up for this type of thing). I really wanted to know which company did this so I can make sure I let them know I do not like what they did and so I can take my business elsewhere.
I'm curious to know which vendor(s) did this to us, too. Like you, I want to know so that I can stop doing business with it/them.
