Purchased a toner cartridge from them for my office printer (had previously purchased toner cartridges a few times prior). When I removed the cartridge from the package, toner leaked out of the cartridge all over my khaki pants (obviously ruining them).
I've had this printer for years and never had a single cartridge from any other supplier leak toner. I contacted Supplies Outlet customer support. Besides asking for a refund, I also asked that they cover my dry cleaner bill (as I was hopeful they might be able to remove the toner and save the pants. I was told they would credit the cartridge but not pay the cleaning bill.
I ultimately reached a manager who first blamed me and (wrongly assumed) I had opened a package that was visibly covered in toner. I explained the outer package had no signs that toner was leaking from the cartridge. She simply stated "we are not responsible for your dry cleaning bill" but would issue a refund for the cartridges once they were received back (by the way, they left it to me to find a box large enough to ship the 2 cartridge boxes back to them).
Somehow they believe that toner getting all over a customer is not an obvious outcome of a defective product.
DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! They don't stand behind their products, don't pay for damage caused by their products and don't care about providing fair resolution.
User's recommendation: DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Monetary Loss: $25.
Preferred solution: Reimburse dry cleaning charges for cost to clean & hand spot my pants to remove the toner..
