Same here. The sitelock/hostgator partnership is an obvious scam.

Within a week of hostgator auto renewing my 1 year plan, I started getting malware reports from sitelock. Hostgator has since shut down my account and will not restore my sites until they have been "professionally cleaned" - for which they of course recommend sitelock. I suppose hostgator figures that since I just paid for 1 year, I'll spend the $$ for sitelock rather than move to another host.

Wrong - I am moving and advising all of my referrals to move as well. With all of the chatter online about sitelock and hostgator, I wish I had the resources and know how to do a class action lawsuit.

Hello,

actually it seems like your website been hacked becouse of vulnerability on your side (it's true for the most of such cases).

Well, Hostgater recommended Sitelock to remove malware "professionaly". Why not?

And pretty much all of Big Hosters shutting down malicious websites now - its normal.

They protect their reputation and other customers from possible treats from your malicious server/website.

Feels like you'll have the same problem on your new host if your websites are malicious. So you'll have to clean it up anyway.
