I have been using Sensodyne Repair and Protect for several years and had no issues. Purchased a new tube and noticed immediately upon use something was wrong.

It taste like soap and my gums began to burn while brushing. Rinsed mouth well to get rid of burning sensation and awful soap taste. The after taste of soap lingered in mouth not even Listerine could get rid of taste that remained in my mouth. I called the customer comment phone number on the box and reported my experience to the company.

They asked that I send this tube to them for testing in which I did. Unfortunately I cannot bring myself to buy this product again.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Yes, I agree with you! I've used various Sensodyne toothpastes for year and seemed to be okay with them but for the past few weeks I've had terrible burning in my mouth and my tongue has been particularly badly effected - red, burning and cracked and extremely sore that I've been going demented with it.

I've also felt rather ill and I went to have blood tests as I thought I had something seriously wrong with me. After having another severe reaction a few days ago, with my gums being on fire, I wracked my brains and wondered whether it could be the Repair and Protect that I used the other day. I googled to see if I could find any info. and found loads of people who've had a severe allergic reaction to it recently with symptoms like mine.

Is it due to the new formula with Novamin? My tongue is severely burnt and red and prickles like *** and it's been like this for several weeks now - I hope it goes back to normal - I'm worried that it won't. I feel like suing for 'damages' as I've had so much pain and upheaval these past few weeks, ending up with going to the doctors for tests etc.

There's no way I'm ever using a Sensodyne toothpaste again. This particular product needs to be withdrawn as it's a health hazard.

So glad I found this! I thought I was going crazy.

Visited family last week and used pronamel which I don't usually use. Since then my tongue has been in agony. It looks burnt and red. I have had a sore throat and felt breathless.

Can barely eat anything as it hurts so much. Thought there was something seriously wrong with me! But now absolutely sure it is the toothpaste!

Have stopped using for a few days now so hoping it will calm down. How long did it take for the pain to go away?
