I reported that my expensive Scanpan had lost it's non-stick surface about a year after I purchased it. It was used properly and given proper care.

They told me to use baking soda, which would fix the problem....add baking soda to boiling water, let it stand, etc., etc., etc. After 6 months of trying to use the pan, having it ruin the food, doing the baking soda thing over and over and over again, I contacted them again. Sent pictures. Sent and replied to endless emails.

Bottom line is, they don't honor the warranty. Whatever is wrong, it's your fault. Clearly, the pans are so expensive, they don't bother with customer support or expect second-time purchases. I threw the pan out last night instead of sending them a 3rd round of photographs, which would never end in my favor.

Throwing it out was much better. They won't honor the warranty.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Monetary Loss: $110.

Preferred solution: A replacement of a non-defective pan..

Ditto - same exact scenerio. About one year old (two pans), sticking better than gum left on a hot sidewalk.

Same process, baking soda, pictures, etc. etc..

Man, wish I had known that when purchased. Paid more than I liked and justified because of perceived quality and life-time (joke) warranty

We have induction stove. Paid $900 for scan pan set.

We 'baby' the pots and pans. It cooks fine, difficult to clean the interior when pan used for saute or browning. (I don't use spray oils.) One lid shattered. The pot handles are round so do not provide leverage when tilting the pot while holding the handle which keeps "rolling" in my hand.

We show this to visiting friends.

They agree it's a bad design. We will not be buying scan pan products.

I also found that they are non-stick within a year or less. Proper care does not help and if you get in touch with the company about their LIFETIME warranty they tell you where to go and you won't like it.

Their warranty is a con game. Many years ago they honored their products but recently they tell you to drop dead after they give you a few run around things you can do to salvage their/your sad product.
