After reading some reviews on the homes, I'm hoping they go against it and actually build one *** of a house for me. We had a delayed start - was then suppose to be done around Dec 16, then I called to lock a rate and was told I cant do a 45 day yet because its Dec 24, tried to call again - its now Dec 29. Called today, its now Jan 5th as an ESTIMATE. Still no locking, unless I want to pay $1000 for a 60 day lock, and then I may still need to pay for an extension since no one will promise a date for a lock.
Each day I'm delayed is costing $100+ for the extended hotel and storage. We had no plans to spend Christmas and New Years in a hotel - They were so confident we would be in before Christmas (to expand, they thought earlier than the 16th....) Its been great weather all building season but in the last month, only shingles have been added to my new home .... Plumbers and Electricians have been "Delayed".
So this isn't a warning, yet, on the quality of the home or how they may address any issues. This is a warning to any potential buyers to be prepared to be delayed. (also happening to my wifes best friend in a different build expansion - They are a month delayed now too).
Few of us have any other means other than a Hotel during a sell and then build... we timed it all as we should and expected a month and 1/2 in the hotel, but by the end it will be at LEAST 2 1/2 months, with a month delay, SO FAR......

Monetary Loss: $3500.
Preferred solution: There is no solution - Ill lose even more money since rates are going up and I cant lock without paying even more $$$$. What I want? Better movement on the house - from delays $3500 out of pocket.... and it sounds like there will be more.
