Only automated service. Proton has not responded to my request for refund for a service I did not want .

I simply changed my password to my email account. When I couldn't access my passwords on Proton Pass and then couldn't see any of the emails that was previously in my Protonmail account, only then did I find out that if I lose my password that I can never retrieve my previous data.

So basically I have lost all the information that I've had stored with Protonmail. There was no warning or anything concerning this. Lost all my data and am not a happy camper. I have changed my password before and have never lost data in the past.

Since they've changed over to new owners, apparently now we can lose access to all our data if we never saved the previous password, recovery phase somewhere else, but they don't tell you that until you've lost access to everything.

Totally unethical company - One would think they'd think about such things before re-writing a program to do such things. They did not have the customer in mind and really don't care at all.

They sent an email the next day but no personal call as I had hoped for. Then they asked me to describe the problem...which I had already described. I told them to reread the problem that I already sent.
Thank you for helping me at least get a response however not as productive as I had expected.

Proton customer service is by far the worst I've ever encountered.Their response was almost none existent and when they did respond it was without any resolve. It's been 3 days and I've yet to have any discussion with anyone just an email with informing me that it has been turned over to the department that handles my issue and will be in touch... nothing since. Absolutely deplorable customer service.
