I was given a $5500.00 estimate to move to Florida from Washington state. The move was put off for over a year for medical reasons.
For one, Planet Vanlines had absolutely nothing to do with service. I placed 2528 down with Planet Vanlines and a small trucking company out of Seattle, Moses Moving showed up to get my belongings. They charged me another $2000 to take my things and store them, as I did not have an address as of yet. Once attaining an address, it took me days to contact customer service to give them the address and to get a confirmation that it was in transit, took a week.
It finally arrived with a box missing and someone else's box left and I was charged another $2472.00 before it was allowed to come off the truck.
I put a claim in for missing items but was ignored and it has been about 10 months now. Do not use this company, Cost me over 7000 dollars and had them only go to Kansas, a good 1800 miles less.
User's recommendation: Find a reputable company before making a move, avoid Planet Vanlines.
Monetary Loss: $1000.
Preferred solution: Price reduction.
Planet Van Lines Cons: Poor business practices, Lousy customer service.
