The techs are great. The doctors try although are often wrong.

It's hard to diagnose an animal so I won't give them too much crap. They did kill my hamster, b/c the oncall doctor did not know how to treat a pocket pet and did not say anything. They wanted to do a surgery on my cat, that thankfully I said no to, since we later found out that was not his issue. I only still go because they have some many specialists, which my sick animals need.

Twice I've had them convince me to keep an animal overnight, both times it turned out to not be necessary. The most outrageous part though is the first time my animal was in the hospital for less than 30 hours. I was charged for 3 days. There is a base of about $1K per day if you animal is admitted.

The second time my animal was admitted after 11pm, and I was charge an additional $1K+ for that day. The total time he was there was about 16 hours. The only reason they charge by the calendar day is to steal money. It does not reflect the time or effort of any of their employees.

It is just a money grab. An extra $1K is the difference between someone being able to help their animal or have to put it down. The money hungry owners should be ashamed of themselves. They have put profits over the lives of countless animals.

My advice is never let your animal be admitted. If you do, don't go until after midnight. If you bring in an animal in the morning and they do tests and everything else and watch them the whole day, you still don't have to pay the extra $1K you'll get charged just from letting them admit the pet.

It'll only be about $500. They do not do anything different.

User's recommendation: Only go in an emergency or for specialty services. If an emergency, best if you wait 'til morning and not admit. If you need to admit always after midnight or they will rob you of an extra $1K.

Monetary Loss: $1000.

Preferred solution: I just want everyone to be aware of this extremely corrupt practice of charging per calendar day. .

Oradell Animal Hospital Pros: Open 24 hours and have lots of specialties and equipment, Techs and doctors care alot.

Oradell Animal Hospital Cons: Hospital only cares about money and will overcharge you, It is very hard to get an appointment for a specialist, No email or dept extension to contact.
