I've never heard of this company until today when I saw unauthorized charges on my card from the month Dec, and Jan, today's date. I Googled their information and called customers service to figure out what's going on.

I gave them my name number and address but no account was found. Finally they asked for my email address and all of a sudden a 213 number from LA was linked to their service which is very strange because I live in the bay area northern California and my number is 707. I don't know anyone with a 213 number but i called to find out information and there was no answer it didn't even ring. Further more I have been looking through my email checking the last two months for any type of receipt, confirmation of purchase, date, and not even the name Ooma shows up on my spam mail.

So I asked customer service to please refund the unauthorized charges made on my card, she says sure the accounting service department will handle it and she transfers me. Now this is where it gets really fishy. I had introduced myself to customer service with my first and last name as it is written on my debit card. The accountant agent shows up on the other line introduces himself and calls me by my middle name.

The tape recording the conversation will prove that I never used my middle name through out the phone call and it's not written on the debit card so it's obvious they have my personal information. When I asked to please take care of this issue for me he said he would only cancel the account but wouldn't reverse the charges because it was a valid purchase charge. Nothing about the charges is valid. I called as soon as the charge went through looking for an explanation, As the owner and only holder of the card I have never heard of Ooma, never purchased or gave anyone authorization to charge the card so there for it is not a valid purchase it is called fraud.

At this point I'm really starting to question the company on a professional level and what exactly are they all about, so I did some research but before I get to that I would like to make it clear on what a valid purchase charge is according to this company called Ooma. No receipt, no confirmation number, not even a date it was purchase, or what was purchase exactly, and through what site so I can at least do my own investigation. The 213 number belongs to their own service provider and I didn't get any helpful information on how to find who is responsible for the so called valid purchase charge. Instead Mr service accountant tells me to call my bank and just cancel the card, then has the nerves to starts explaining to me how their product works through WiFi without a lan line.

Whao... I got fed up and asked to speak with the supervisor and he's response was " I am the supervisor". So I asked for he's full name so I can handle this matter through a much higher reliable department, but he refused to give me hes name and instead gives me a 3 digit number and tells me that's what he goes by. So I hung up and filed a report against the company.

come to find out, it appears I'm not the first or the only one who has filed complaints against Ooma inc for unauthorized charges, they are also over charging their customer, charging extra taxes, product malfunction, they continue to charge customers even after service is cancel, bad customer service help and so on.. seems like it's been going on for a while.

I will continue filling report against them because they never showed me any prove, never gave me any information on when and how my card was used, didn't even reason or try to help, they lied using my email to link a 213 number from their service. I have searched over a thousand email and spam mail from past few months looking for the Ooma name and never found it, I did however found the settings with the only phone number thats been on my email over 10 years and that's my 707 number and unlike Ooma I can prove everything I have written.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.
