Granted you organization WON'T post this although without knowing the truth your willing to post customer complaints. I work in customer service, not only has my manager listened recorded calls because of being asked but I've heard some lame excuses which we call "buyers remorse" where (they still) have their credit card, no one stole it but someone called us entered "them" into the sweepstakes and bought mags to be shipped out "their address", again their card was never stolen, but they didn't do it!

I would think it's pretty obvious as to what happened but then again I am an educated woman. We state there is no purchase necessary to enter into the sweepstakes at the beginning of the call, we also state that purchasing mags "WILL NOT" increase your chance of winning! Although these people hear this and I'm not sure if its because they're "impulsive buyers" or the fact that we have a great deal for ex: right now 67.08 per yr gives them 10 mags subscriptions per year which you can exchange mags through out your yrs of svc for any other mags we have for free or gift them to family and friend w/out shipping prices that excites them or the idea of winning does. Cosmopolitan for ex is 17.00 per yr for ex.

the reason why I'm emailing this organization is because I was just speaking to my credit card rep to make a payment for a bill I owed and we at random entered into a conversation. this person gets a cosmo and has 3 family and members who read the same mag that she orders every yr for her and them. When I explained to her I worked for national magazine exchange she mentioned giving her family the cosmo package and that price, I told her about our great deal. She was more than obviously excited.

In my mind I'm thinking how many of these people order as seen on TV orders then complain about the fact that it comes out in stores 2 months later and they get telemarketing calls, um hello? We don't even do that, your information is not sold with this company. we legally state all the terms and conditions on a recording and it's monitored. I've seen calls "LITTERALLY", If anyone were to misrepresent the company, again it's monitored and would be cancelled immediately, if anyone didn't give an affirmative yes I understand the agreement it would be cancelled immediately, if anyone were to state I don't understand and the agent didn't reiterate the terms and conditions it would be cancelled automatically regardless.

I have to state there is a reason in which why this company is still in business, and to all those complainers think about this. when you buy something and someone makes something for you then you change your mind and ask for your money to be refunded in which case "WE" have alternative options to your service which we can explain to you. although you have bonded yourself in a legal verbal recorded contract and in reality we don't have to refund you anything we can and are willing to do. I want all of you to think about this!

For once in your life think about what you are agreeing to, then I want you to think about how many jobs are at stake. Jobs are placed upon companies being able to pay them. Think about when you place an order and we pay those publishers, the publishers start up you subscriptions which costs them money for the editors, the money for the paper it costs, the people who do the graphics the people who stand there all night and make sure the mag has been glued together tightly, the famous companies such as vogue who also pay their models top dollar to hire models to be in your mags, the random person who actually glues those papers together the average paid person to make sure the machines are working correctly before you place an order, think about the fact that in reality we will offer you different options for mag orders, think about the fact that you know you placed your order, and then think about all the people who could loose their jobs when you cancel your order, and think about receiving the free gifts, the 2 "real" diamond quarts watches that you receive then happen to cancel your order. think about other people and use common sense if your giving your credit card you are being billed.....there is a reason why were still in business, some of you are the scammers, your rude and cruel to us you try and get things from us for free, you claim you can get mag subscriptions on a trial period which is un heard of, again you receive our free gifts then call to cancel, in fact some of you make payments by phone in which case depending upon the price we send you a 20 gas rebate which is honored by customers who have called back in so I know that for a fact as well as the 25 dining dough restaurant card.....then u receive that in the mail after making a payment then wish to cancel.....you know you people claim were the bad guys......your the ones trying to run something over on us.....next time if you have a soul think about the jobs your jeopardizing when you do that.

again for those of you who claim to not understand you can sure fill out the order form for the free gifts and then claim you didn't know what's going on....this is a reputable company and I just work there and get no credit for saying this. AGAIN if it's clear the customer doesn't understand what's going on by not giving a clear I understand yes I agree the account is automatically canceled. the more I talk about this the more angry I get, We at National Magazine Exchange the 2nd largest clearing house are both reputable companies. I am also so sick and tired of these people complaining about this company, and I've only worked there for a couple of months but I've known about the company for yrs.

fl law has changed it telemarketing laws over the years, outbound sales at least. this company was inbound and was bought out by a military man and in which case is smack dab in the middle of the privately owned company Raytheon which is a privately owned military creating weaponry company, constant guards around the premises as well as screening employees and badges. I state this and please excuse me for not being apologetic to those who place their order knowing what's at stake, knowing they will be billed, taking advantage of their free gifts, stating that they thought they would win even though we state they won't, these people who order that care nothing about others while they place the order are hoarders, compulsive buyers, people who here what's for free and try and claim all is free even though they give their credit card, again how ignorant are you to give your credit card and say that you thought it was for free? especially when it comes down to I'm going to bill you consecutively monthly payments and your willing to make this payment today.

It's unbelievable how many people we get who call up make a payment and receive depending upon payments gifts then cancel "AFTER" they received their gifts or their 2 "REAL DIAMOND" QUARTS WATCHES, I have heard people stating they lost their job and then after they make their verbal contract, I'm willing to lower their payments they say well my job makes enough money to pa for that.....wow!! Again these people make me angry because in reality they know what their doing most of them get free gifts from us they are either hoarders or compulsive buyers but they know what their doing.....but again they are jeopardizing jobs because of their obsession or stupidity, STOP CALLING IN, DON'T CALL!!!!, if your that *** or have an issue DON'T BLAME SOMEONE ELSE! If you an older person and you call and claim you don't know what's going on. Please, dementia Alzheimer's patients don't know they have the disease!

THATS A FACT. STOP playing ***, an Alzheimer's or Dementia patient doesn't even know what their debt or credit card number is. If they have placed the order previously have you ever asked them if they wish to keep that order? Do you respect them?

Its a proven fact that Alzheimer's and dementia patients are less likely to adhere to the disease if they learn new things. MY grandfather has dementia how dis-Respectful and selfish can you be by false claiming the fact that your old or even your even your old loved old though they have multiple orders with us that have been paid for exp when every time you call the acct is cancelled. again there is no purchase necessary. Also How dare you claim what my grandfather has, dementia in fact if had that disease you wouldn't know you had it/ For those elderly people stop saying you don't understand especially when you have multiple mag orders within esp.

1 yr of the other and you cancel them ........AGAIN THERE IS NO PURCHASE NECESSARY, PURCHASE DOE NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. if you had common sense you would know that. and no one forced you over the telephone to give your credit card, stop playing ***, and stop being a ***.

you people are causing people "JOBS" because of your ignorance, and im guessing those of you who are retired don't care, those of you who feel lucky, and gamble don't care those of you who are compulsive buyers don't care, and those of you who are hoarders don't care. Have fun with your conscious because I'm sure all theses companies do just trying to stay a float and pay for their employees, You all have done this several times before and if not and your that *** even though every thing is stated over a recorded line then why do u have a debt card or a credit cardโ€ฆ.stop causing us problems because of your issues!

I have never complained about the payments or the magazines I get. My complaint is the relentless calls for "a great deal".

I have repeatedly said, "I want no changes to this agreement, no renewals, and no more calls". I continue to get at LEAST one call a week. Yesterday a rep called twice on the home phone and once on my cell all within 2 minutes!

Really??? I am trying to figure out what part of NO do you all get?

Informative article ! For my two cents , if someone is wanting a IRS W-2 , my family encountered a blank version here http://goo.gl/E0OVNr

This outfit is deceiving and will take advantagee of you. I got a letter about a sweepstake and I called to find out how they got my information and to tell them I did not want to have any dealings with them.

They now have my phone number because of caller ID so I probably screwed up by doing that.

They kept trying different offers from magazines to computers and I kept saying no and tryed telling them I wanted nothing to do with them. I finally just hung up.

GREAT COMAPNY

I used to work at NME and it is def a cult like environment. Yes the product is real, and the sweepstakes is real, but the tacticts are aweful.

The script is set up to misdirect and distract. We pitch a weekly rate of $1.29 per week, and keep saying weekly, but then we switch to saying monthly right before we pull the credit card, which confuses 90% of the customers, many of which are old an senile. The lady above talks about how it is such a great deal...and thats true its not bad at all...you get 11 mags for 67.08 for a year, however we push to get 4 years of mags wich is 268.32. The total price is NEVER mentioned to the customer, and it is worded in a way to seem that the total is 67.08 that is devided by 4...not multiplied by four...highly unethical.

Its my firm belief that if the customer never understands the total then that is unscroupulous. Also a single customer is rebuttled at liest 5 times by the first phone rep, then a fake superviser (actually a sale closer) rebuttled 7 to 10 more times. very high pressure and manipulative. The "customers" really are victims most of the time.

Also we push the customers to use credit cards that are maxed out..debit cards too even if they overdraft thier account...we even use a sneaky rebuttal saying we will make special arrangements if the card doesnt go though...those arrangements are just to keep trying to charge the card resulting in multiple overdraft fees. I feel sorry for the employees too. Very Wacky schedules that can change on a whim... They offer the employees very low pay to begin with and if miss one single minute of your required hours (going to the bathroom is off the clock) then you recieve minimum wage...like i said its very cult like and they keep the guise that everything is professional there.

not the case at all. As an employee i felt just as scammed as all the customers we scammed. Hey im just a guy who used to work there...im not going to bother checking this for typos or spelling errors, im just throwing out the facts....The lady at the top is trying to justify her existance and an employee...she gets way underpaid for what she does...shes bitter...it is a tough job and the customers are VERY abusive too.

Thats both sides of it. Yes feel sorry for the customers that are ripped off...yes feel sorry for the employees which are underpaid and overworked.

"but then again I am an educated woman."

Your standards for what you consider "educated" are extremely low. As an educator I was appalled at your 2 page run on sentence.

I suggest you learn how to read and write before attempting to compose another hate letter to your customers. Customers as in; the people who provide the money for your paycheck.

I am in no way complaining about this company. But, let me tell you this.

I received a Prize Distribution statement in the mail Saying second notice that I could win a million dollars. and it says no purchase required to win.

IF that is the case then when a person tells them no they don't want any magazines they should let it go instead of using time tested pressure tactics. And to the consumer if you don't want the magazines don't call the damned number.

I have worked from home for this company for 9 years,,,,and from time to time I get angry folks on the other end of the phone...but the majority of the time I get to talk to interesting people all over the country,,,I like my job...I like life in general...Peace Magic & Miracles

You are so hostile toward your customers, I suggest you look into a new line of work for your own mental health. FYI, we canceled our NME membership before getting any of the "freebies," but we got charged anyway and they haven't put the money back into our account yet.

Well, this company may be "legitimate" but they prey on the elderly and confuse them into buying magazines. The company is based in Florida where they do not have to be licensed or certified, etc.

They have pressued my elderly relative (90 years old) into paying for magazines that she doesn't even have any interest in. ESPN, Rolling Stone. ???? WTF???

And no way can you get hold of someone to make it stop. Sure, like one poster said -- they have to make a buck. That's all well and good.

But it is very wrong to make your buck off of the vulnerable. That's just lowlife.

Guest

I have actually been hounded into buying the magazines. And you have to chose a certain number of magazines and half of them I have never even read nor wanted to read.

You tell them no that you just want to enter the contest and they come up with all kinds of excuses. I did purchase magazines but the prices are more than I expected.

The watches are not real diamonds and they don't even work. I am thinking about cancelling with them.

After having known 6 people who worked for this company and having had plentyof personal experince with their INGOING ONLY calls system, including having listend to 100 plus calls(my brother was an in house agent) the only thing these guys are guilty of is being a little to pushy, and obviously you have to be to make money.

warning!!! We carry all the major magazines.

If you give your Credit Card to us...we will NOT CALL YOU to renew and ask for your credit card again.... there is a scam out there pretending to be us.

Customers have called in stating this to us and these people are stating random major magazines pretending to be us..DO NOT!! give your cc info if we call you to renew...we will not ask you for any previous card unless your willing to give it!!!

OMG, WTF is up your *** Some one has way too much time on their hands and p.s. can't spell worth a ***.

BTW, I had never heard of NME before receiving a post card in the mail either. All it stated was something like "call this # and you will be entered into a contest to win $". OK, sure, what's there to lose? Nothing was every said about being relentlessly hounded until you "verbally agree" to buy something you didn't want, need or even understand in the first place.

I was just calling to win a milliion bucks and that's what I told them. But, they still insisted on selling me mags and that I would get "free gift". Who knows if that "diamond watch" will ever come?

Granted, that it was my stupidity but I never did give them my CC #. One for me, zero for NME!

@Syd Rain. NME is actually quite a large company bringing in revenue somewhere around 40 million dollars a year.

The company has also been in business for about 26 years. I don't think they are "on their way down the drain.". You are a simple consumer, they are a massive marketing partner(you should see their headquarters).

If you don't like the mailer they send out, don't call. I wouldn't expect you to chastise Home Depot, or Best Buy for sending you out advertisements in your Sunday newspaper.

BTW, considering you all have done nothing but stated about how uneducated you think I am. I have however pretty much called you out on your own ignorance.

In all that fact you have less to state about the company. However you have more upon state about me, Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs more than likely sure that you are lonely housewives who are looking for someone to blame rather than owing up to reality. Face the facts In all your comments you have picked on me more than you have the company. I really feel sorry for you.

I wanted to state this in a whole letter but I wasnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt sure how much this company รขโ‚ฌล“pissedconsumer.comรขโ‚ฌย would let me say at one time. You people need more than to get a life.

Chances are you all will more likely comment on what I said, which is again, sorry I am a truthful person. Your hoarders, and compulsive buyers, and are more likely to fight with me and forget about the original subject you started talking about because YOU HAVE NO LIVES!
