Why did I get mistreated.

I was at the MGM waiting on the money mover machine when I saw it was empty I proceeded to the machine and put a $100 bill in it then a man next to me stated a lady was coming back to play and that her card and money was in the machine which was $2.45 so I asked could I cash it out and bring her money back she went and got a staff member which stated she don’t know who money was in the machine so I lost my money and nobody knows my financial situation to just loose $100
