New ReviewerMy vehicle was initially towed to this location for a recall. While there, I was advised by my Service Advisor, Ahmad Frozan, that he could have the battery replaced for me.
This was done on July 27, 2022. I drove it home which is about 30 miles from the dealership. On or about August 15, 2022, I went to crank the car and the key would not even go in. After charging it to 100%, the most it would do is barely turn over.
My husband and I began saving for what we anticipated would be a costly repair, being a Mercedes, and we never thought it could be our brand new battery.
It was towed back to the dealership where, after texting Ahmad for an update, I was informed that it was the battery but that it would not be covered as there was "outside influence" that cause the battery to go bad. First we were told it was because water had gotten into the car, then because of an after-market radio (that was never turned on), and one other, that my husband was able to refute every one he tried to say resulted in the battery.going bad. My husband next spoke with the Service Manager, Jacob Doherty, who initially told him he would charge it over night and call him the following morning. He called him back the same afternoon and did nothing more than offer the same reasons Ahmad did.
I called the Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC and opened a complaint with them.
After waiting 5 days for an
Executive Referral Manager to be assigned to my complaint, I finally ended up speaking with Hoda. This was a complete waste of time as she did nothing more than agree with the dealership. The dealership never contacted me. After texting Ahmad and informing him that I would have the car towed from there in a day or two, when the tow driver arrived, he had to leave and come back as they told him they needed an hour to put the battery back in the car.
When the tow driver arrived at my house with the car, he said, "I don't know why you had your vehicle up there, I drove it right on to my trailer". He told me it had cranked right up for him. When my husband tried to crank it the next day, he noticed the driver's window was down. At some point, there had to be power to the car for the window to get down.
The car would not crank, so we had to tape it up. Of course, Ahmad denied any knowledge or responsibility for the window being down.
This dealership would not acknowledge the possibility that they could have installed a deficient battery. No reasonable person would expect a new battery to go bad after 15 days.
They do not listen or work with their customers. I would not recommend taking your Mercedes there to be serviced.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
