Hello,

My name is Michele and last night I was called by a woman selling Melaleuca products. I believe this company to be a SCAM so this morning I decided to research this company. I found several negative articles regarding this companies customer service practices, lack of ethical treatment of animals and other serious claims of ripping people off.

The only people who seem to be saying anything good about it are the people making money from it!

Anyway I felt that you might be interested that this company is marketing their company to mothers playing on their love for their children.

As I was talking to this woman I "googled" Melaleuca Idaho Falls and found several websites condemning this companies products and tactics.

After 15 minutes of her "explaining" the products I politely told her I wanted to end the conversation due to all of these articles I was reading.

She belligerently said "we have only been on the phone for five minutes so you couldn't have read all that stuff." I very calmly said "we have been on the phone for 15 minutes and I can read!"

She then said "I can't believe you would put children at risk of cancer." I responded with ”I am not interested in your company.” She then said "I made $175,000.00 last year." I responded with “I prefer to sleep at night.” She said “have a great life and hung up!

The woman who contacted me was:

Her idea of "explaining" the products was by telling me that Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo has formaldehyde and can give your children cancer now this may be true, I have no idea but if I were not aware of this type of scam I might have actually fallen for it. She also went on to say the same about tooth paste and laundry detergent; once again someone that is not familiar with this type of marketing might get fooled.

I feel that this company might be using false statements to gain the confidence of the American public so that they can take advantage of them. From what I have read this company automatically deducts money from your bank account and will not refund money when asked to. The better business bureau is useless as long as a company responds they consider a problem to be resolved and will keep a company in good standing. They do not care about the consumer they only care about the business that pays for a membership!

In one of their agents comments defending the company the agent stated that the company received awards from the American Red Cross & The Salvation Army.

I have contacted the BBB, American Red Cross & The Salvation Army.

The BBB has 297 complaints.

The American Red Cross & The Salvation Army have not yet replied but there is no mention of Melaleuca on their websites.

I have been a customer for nearly 20 years. The products are great without the cheap filler products in other consumer products.

I have found them to ba a great company with great products. My only regret is that I did'nt become a distributor back then.

Sorry for your bad experience, but don't trash a great company and products because of a incident with a rep.. Companies are made of people, and some of those people don't represent the best interests of the companies they work for.

I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience. Pushy sales people can give any company a bad name.

I have been a Melaleuca customer for almost 4 years and love their product. No other product is like their Solumel that gets out permanent marker (I have two young children) or dog accidents.

i bet you the complaints from people on here are from people who are irresponsible or from another company and are losing business bc melaleuca makes awesome products at cheap prices.....why do people post things up on the internet??? to try and scare people from buying something thats right for them.....so go ahead keep reading complaints, i love the products so far, you just got to keep your preferred customer status by buying three or 4 things a month....but you never know till you try something people thats all

I ordered from Melaleuca 4 different times as a customer. Sometimes money was tight and I had to go back to buying the products in the store with all the chemicals in them. If you can't pronounce a chemical in a product you shouldn't put it on your skin and when you take a bath or shower you are opening up your pores and taking all the toxins in. Most people are smart enough to know that, that is basic knowledge.

I have never been mistreated or pushed into signing up for products with this company, I have been invited to forums to understand the bad things that are in standard products. Also, I noticed that some people on here are complaining that their orders did not just stop when they beckoned, that is explained to you when you sign up, there is a back up order in the event you forget to order and also that you are suppose to sign a form and fax or mail it to them to tell them you do not want to be a customer anymore. I followed the directions each of the four times I was a customer over 10 years and never had a problem. You might get one back up order if you quit in between the ordering times but if you quit right after an order than it discontinues you as a customer.

I did want to say something for the products, there may have been a few products I tried through them that weren't for me but that has to do with them being natural because I have the same problem with Organic products too but 98% of the products they have are wonderful. I really loved them and still miss them. I did find a girl that sold it and she got me one of the products that I swear by and it is called pain a trate. It is wonderful for pain, I have used it on my TMJ, joint soreness, back pain etc and there is no other product like it out there and believe me in 48 years I have tried many of them, especially with 5 kids and all their problems that come up. Another wonderful product of theirs is the vitamins, they are not cheap but they work, when I stopped taking them, I felt dead, didn't realize it was because of not taking the vitamins till a few months later, they came in little packets marked AM and PM and there is a mixture of wonderful vitamins in there, you take them and they do there magic!

Not all products please all people which is true out in stores too. I think the problem with people who complain about any company is that they are negative people to begin with and they attract negative to them so no matter where they are and who they interact with they will eventually have a problem. I have a degree in Psychology and know that to be true. People that have learned to be positive will tell you stories of the bad things that came their way when they used to be negative all the time.

I just wanted to be fair to this company and those of you considering, don't go by all the negative that people put out here, for every negative person you can find 5 positive people who love the products. It is up to you who you want to follow and believe.Also if you want to have success in life and good things happen to you, don't follow negative people who have problems all the time or that is what you will reap also.

How come I have been a customer off and on for over 10 years and have stopped my service 4 times with no problems yet there are people here that say they cannot stop the orders from only being a customer once etc That seems weird to me in itself. There are people who say that they are still getting orders 4 months later etc. If that truly happened to me, even one month later with any company, I would close the account down and open a new one or just order a new debit card, they can't get into your account without your permission and remember you are the one that gave them permission to access your account and send you products. The scam fairy did not come in the middle of the night and sign you up and steal your debit card. I mean come on people, show some responsibility for yourselves!

If anyone sells, I am looking to get the vitamins!! I am tired of being tired!!

Wow, you have certainly done a lot of research and I can understand why you wouldn't have liked the tactics used on the phone. I've been a Melaleuca customer for 16 years now and wouldn't use any other products - I just love them!

My children are now grown & married now and they use Melaleuca products in THEIR homes because they love them.

I think the fact that I was introduced to Melaleuca by someone that I knew and trusted made a big difference and, because of that, I was able to help my daughter's asthma and my son's skin condition simply by using Melaleuca products. I'm sorry that you didn't get introduced that way.

Wow...reading an article about me here...is interesting. I guess it's how celebrities feel when their name is in the tabloids.

Just to be clear....I would never had made those kind of comments to build my business. I have been working from home, successfully, for 10 years this month...and surely don't use scare tactics to gain customers or business partners. My other 1000 customers would probably attest to this ! So...bottom line here folks...don't believe everything you read or hear.

Some people are just so unhappy that they need to back someone else to make themselves feel better. It's rather sad...but I don;t lose sleep at night...I have a great business, with happy customers, and work with an amazing company !

These are wonderful products and a wonderful company. I was a memeber for 3 years...as a previous poster said...not to make money, but to use healthy products that are CONCENTRATED (THEY GO A LONG WAY)AND DO A GREAT JOB CLEANING.

THE PERSONAL CARE AND BODY PRODUCTS ARE VERY NICE TOO. I AM NO LONGER A MEMBER BECAUSE THEY LAST SO LONG I WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE MY MONTHLY QUOTA ...I DO NOT NEED TO REORDER EVERY MONTH.

SO I CONTINUE TO ORDER FROM A FRIEND-- BECAUSE I LOVE THE PRODUCTS! IF YOU JUST TRIED ONE PRODUCT YOU WOULD BE SOLD!

I have been using Melaleuca products for almost 14 years now and I love the products! I don't market the business, I simply use the products.

Their customer service has always been top notch, which is unheard of these days. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I have used Melaleuca products for almost 2 years now. My entire extended family uses the products.

We love them. They do not have phosphates, bleach, ammonia or formaldahyde, excuse spelling!, they are concentrated so use less plastic and save money. Always the highest quality. Every company will have complaints if they are big or have been around awhile.

I feel VERY good about using products that are better for my family and the environment and they still work...Great!

Most environmentally friendly products are more expensive and/or do not work very well. Melaleuca WORKS.

I have been a happy customer of Melaleuca for 15 years. I have researched them again and again and have occassionally tried other products.

I always come back to my Mela products. The company has operated with integrity in every situation I have experienced with them.

Do not let fear override reason. There are scams out there, this is not one.

WOW, you're full of anger, aren't you? You FEEL the company MIGHT? Have you heard of the word SLANDER?

You CANNOT truly educate yourself on ANYTHING by Googling for 15 minutes! And, by the way, in case you haven't heard? Like attracts like - if you're full of negativity, that's what you'll get back. Of course you found negative comments, there's all kinds of people full of negativity in this world.

Fortunately there are a few people who work for a few companies that actually want to improve our lives. Maybe you should reconsider your 15 minutes at Google University and find some truth - it will do you some good to see that Melaleuca does NOT "play" (it's "prey" by the way) on mom's and kids, and they do NOT deduct money from your account and refuse to give it back.

They do, however, offer some eco friendly products to people who prefer not to douse themselves in toxins and negativity. Good luck!

Instead of looking for negativity against a company, why don't you check out the FDA and the EPA about the claims the company makes about what is in store brand products. Then you will see that Melaleuca is right.

Anyone can find complaints on the internet. Get educated.

Every company have problems for 275 complaints about Melauluca is goog .If you review all the big and brand name companys had way over that figure of complaints even pop drinks is bad for you ,but still people drink it , I prefer to use the products from a Wellness Company, and that is Melaleuca, There are really people looking for Excuses,Negative and focusing on the mistakes instead of focusing on how to solve problems statistically there are 25% of the whole population this kind of people so just stay away from this people.PERIOD.... dont even talk to this kind of people its just a waste of precious time.Move on and and talk to the NEXT one.

Why don't you people get a life. 297 complaints and they have been in business for 25 years.

They are one of the only home based businesses in the world who has grown every year they have been in business from the prior year. They have a 95% monthly re-order rate of their products and a 96% retention rate.

The owner has won many awards along with his company Melaleuca. You will always have negative with every major company so do your homework and work through the bs and negative of people who are just trying to sell you their program.

I JOINED THE COMPANY NOT TO GAIN MONEY BUT BECAUSE I WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING THAT REALLY HELPS THE ENVIRONMENT, HOWEVER, I AM SO DELIGHTED WITH THE PRODUCTS, FOR 3 YEARS IF I HAD SEEN 4 ROACHES IN MY HOUSE IS TOO MUCH, NO RATS, NO TERMITES, MY HUSBAND LEFT THE SUGAR OUT OVERNIGHT AND I WAS AMAZED THAT I DID NOT SEE NOT EVEN ANTS IN THE KITCHEN, I MEAN NO INSECTS IF YOU TRY IT JUST FOR THAT YOU WILL LOVE IT., I WILL CHECK 7TH GENERATION., BUT LIKE I SAID I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THE PRODUCT, ONLY ONE THING I DID NOT LIKE IS MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP...
