I called ahead and talked with the salesman before going to the store. He confirmed that he had the type and price range of mattress I was looking for there in the store.

I went to the store and picked out a matress, paid for it, then the salesman said he didnt have the matress in the store. I had the option of driving forty miles to the warehouse to pick it up, or drive 22 miles to another store to pick it up. The last option was to have it delivered to the store. BUT, it would be 5 days before it was brought to the store !

So now I had spent almost 400.00 and no mattress for almost a week. I told the salesman my back was hurting and needed the new mattress ASAP. As a customer, I should have been advised before my purchase, that none of the clearance mattresses were available. I would have gone somewhere else.

Making a sale is more important than being honest with the customer. I am still waiting for my mattress three days later.

Inventory availability changes instantly. Did you place a deposit over the phone to hold the mattress or did you think no one else could possibly purchase the same floor model? Maybe you are the one whom needed to plan ahead.
