Jun 26 2021 Wedding photography So basically we booked a wedding photographer about a year and a half ago. He approached my fiancé on Facebook saying she won $1000 off a wedding package.
Everything seemed good and cordial at first however after we made our second payment for a total of $2,800 is when the photographer slapped us with a sticker shock of $4,000 for travel expenses for Idaho to Georgia. We asked how they came up with the number and all they said was something about equipment insurance which wasn't specified in their contract In that same email. Following that we requested a refund however they said no refunds unless it's more than a year out of the wedding date. The contract was made explicitly one sided and exploits the fact that they're not obligated to a refund unless its 30 days from the event if they can't find a suitable replacement based on what the photographer deems good enough or may only issue a credit.
He also requires payment in full 3 months in advance.
This is underhanded and likely benefits from contract cancellations. He also has a history of being completely unreasonable with covid cancelled weddings as well from the reviews i seen. I would like a refund, but above all else make sure he never makes these underhanded deals to anyone else
Monetary Loss: $2800.
Preferred solution: Awareness raised for their bad business practice.
Love Someone Photography Pros: Quick response.
Love Someone Photography Cons: Way over pricing, Exploitive contract, Shady practice.
