Lkq Corporation - Warranty issues 2nd time on replacement engine
Put 20K on this engine, my mechanic that did the work did not inform me well enough on the warranty, my fault to for not asking in advance to check it out. You should be able to trust a mechanic.
Up front $ 50.00 per hour labor reimbursement?????? Ford charges $112.00 per hour.
Problem, knocking when starting the engine, lasting 2 to 3 seconds.
Sounds like a diesel starting.
Got Ford to look at and found that LKQ had installed incorrect tensioners, Ford replaced, but back to the $50.00 warranty, COST ME $880 AND CAR RENTAL.
Now the knocking is back, the engine is dissembled in the shop, going thru tons of testing of which nothing has resulted in the noise.
Here is the kicker, LKQ wants to send another engine, if I pay upfront $3000.00 and send the present one down for them to test.??????
Looks like I got the best end of the famous quote, "Got You SUCKER".
DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I brought a vehicle from a dealer that brought a engine from lkq and the engine was a defect .good thing the warranty was still good.the engine was replaced and the same problems is acurring with new engine.i will never again do business with any dealer that do business with lkq.we
First of all, LKQ does not install anything. We simply pull the engine out of the vehicle. Check your facts before slandering a companies name
They suck. And im not slandering there name.
Bought a motor. Started it up. And knocking and smoming. Shut it off.
And call them they said u have to run it threw warranty. Why. Just replace it

So waiting and its been a few days ..so i call backed. She said we closed the warranty. U did not answer the pbone. And have to open another claim now 2 weeks and waited.
Finally got girl April back out of mass. And she said she dont know whats going on she sent it too warranty department. So call credit card company and disputed the fraud on the motor.
.. now we will see .
Have the same issue, what did your credit card company said ???
But your company is selling defect products.wwhich is bad business and can get danderous if u sell defects to a customer that dont care about life
