Terrible! Terrible!

Terrible experience and service. I ordered a watch online as a Christmas present. When I opened the package, the watch box inside was clearly open. It had been shipped that way.

Upon taking the watch out, I discovered it did not work at all. I called jomashops customer service as they claim to have a warranty and to "be a company you can trust!" Wrong! They told me to go find someone to install a battery, send them a receipt, and they would cover up to $15 dollars of the battery cost OR at my expense I could ship the watch back and they would then repair and return the watch. Option 2 would certainly be after Christmas and at my expense.

When did it become acceptable to sell and ship a defective product and then shift the responsibility, time and expense on to the purchaser? Thats neither a valid warranty or appropriate customer service!
