I'm researching right now because I bought a John Deere D130 after the Craftsman mower I'd had for 18 years finally started having issues. I'm from the Quad cities and we are big Deere supporters and I thought they had a superior product.

My mother also.worked for Deere harvester for 30 years before retiring, so I grew up Deere. It had been used about 8 times and had 6 miles on it when we were mulching leafs when it caught fire and try as I and my neighbor might, it burned to where it's unrecognizable. I paid $2000 in July of 2016, it burned up Feb 19, 2017. I haven't tried to contact Deere yet because it doesn't look like it helps anyway.

I'm getting $900 from my homeowners insurance after my $1000 deductible.

I'm a single mother with two kids, so having to eat over $1000, it's really hurting me financially. I'm just glad my son, who was on the mower when it caught fire, didn't get burned up too.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Sounds like you left stale fuel in it over the winter : causes float to stick open and can create a rich running condition : will catch on fire if the conditions are right (did you blow off your machine regularly) rarely are these machines catching fire the result of the equipment but maintenance practices : small engine tech of 13 years
