Hello!

In April 2016, I spent $149 USD contributing to the Instamic campaign on Indiegogo and was supposed to receive an Instamic microphone within that month (April). My visa card was debited on April 11th 2016.

I never received the Instamic microphone. They keep pushing the delivery date back (it went from April 2016 to June 2016 to September October 2016). Occasionally they send updates of the type "Yeah, we are working on it, and we are excited, and production will begin soon and you will get your Instamic which is so cool" which is increasingly beginning to look like a bunch of BS.

I am very angry and until I get what I was promised, or a full refund for my money, I will never contribute again to Indiegogo, and will do my best to inform everyone to beware. So:

Beware of the Instamic Indiegogo campaign to raise money. They do not deliver what they promise.

Best regards,

Aliki Panagopoulou

Reason of review: Product not ddelivered .

Monetary Loss: $149.

"... until I get what I was promised, or a full refund for my money ...

beware of the Instamic Indiegogo campaign to raise money. They do not deliver what they promise ..."You should have gotten yours by now or the promised refund by the CEO?I too was a little worried and wrote them (politely) to ask about progress and then it still took a year for mine to arrive. They put their own money, time and energy into this and the delivery and hardware are now in a good place. They have delivered and if you got yours, it would adorn you to reflect this in an update. For me the Instamic works as advertised and it is now a part of my game audio design toolkit.

The Instamic is practical and can go where no other mic does. It also has an actice community:https://www.facebook.com/Instamic/Matthew

I received two, and then after using them I bought a 3rd one. They are incredible and I'm putting out a live album that I recorded with ease because of themIt was definitely annoying how long it took to wait to receive them but they were dealing with manufacturer delays as well as waiting on Apple to give them a green light which I'm sure takes forever

Finally got mine and I have to say itโ€™s *** as ***

I just got mine and it was worth the wait

At the very beginning, I'm interested on your product and thought the instamic was innovative, that's why, I'm #73 person who bought this to support your company on Jun 15, 2015. I fully understand you guys are not expertise to deal with factory and handling the production line.

So, I have never made comments and chased you until 18 months when I knew some of the instamic were shipped and I still have not received! I only asked the shipping status a few times through your freshdesk and they finally promised me I would be on the next batch and would ship the product to me in May2017. No news again after that so I chased again and your side told me have missed my order again! If you were me, would you be angry?

The problem is, i could' feel that you are sorry with this and try to fix the mistake and would dispatch the product to me in due course. In fact, you only offered me a refund to close this, is it the kind of customer service to deal with your customer?! I'm really angery that 26 months passed and you still can't commit the orders, no time, no date, but on the other hands, keep promoting your product and accepting new orders and try to make money! I don't want other ppl to have the same experience like me!

Do you think this is what you so call"Glad to be an innovator"? Force the backer to either refund or to keep the mouth shut and wait without any commitment?

Sandra keeps telling the backers to send mail to her for tracking, you have no product on hand and commitment, what can you track for?? Maybe you choose who to ship and who not to for business advantage as you did ask supporters a question of 'what is your purpose to buy this product'?

I received my instamic and had to wait just like everyone else. It's an excellent product backed by a very honest people.

There was a long wait because it took a long time to get Apple certification and then had to be manufactured. Instamic is not a Sony or some big company. It's a startup. That is why it's on Indigogo.

People who were tired of waiting were issued refunds. I am very satisfied with my Instamic and find that the support I get from the developer is outstanding.

I just received mine after at least a year, but I love it! It probably would be nice for the company to us updates. Sometimes patience is best rather than sending off a nasty note.

Although the wait was long for instamic, I'm just glad it did evenuate unlike a number of other crowdfunding projects I have backed over the years resulting in a loss of around $500.

However, during that wait time I used alternative equipment which 'did the job', and today I was the proud recipient of four instamics. After a quick test record, it blew me away!!

The customer service I recieved from Instamic also was fantastic, from the moment the order was placed till the moment it landed on my door step.

Dear Aliki,

It's Michele Baggio - Instamic CEO.

I know that it won't solve anything cause you will stay firm on your idea.

Even if customers on this chat and on Indiegogo are telling you that they received Instamic, you are still saying it's sketchy, it's a scam and dishonest.

You clearly won't move from your assumptions but I need to defend my company and all the amazing people who work around Instamic.

I personally invested all my savings, my life is completely exploded, I should have got married 2 years ago, my family has completely lost me as part of the family and I am running out of money. Do you think I would have put all this in danger to fake a campaign?

Do you think I like to go to China and take pictures of something that doesn't exist (this what you think), working 25/7, every single weekend since 2014, no salary, living with a luggage as wardrobe, only to fake something? I have been very honest on every single update during the campaign. If you have been through a project that involves manufacturing, you would know that nothing is easy and predictable. See GoPro Karma or Samsung Note 7 to mention few and consider that Instamic is working with $400K budget to develop and produce an entire product.

Those companies have billions and still they have delays and big issues on units delivered. When I have set deadlines during the campaign it was because they were planned with the CM in China. And how many times I had to stand the frustration to see the production on hold for reasons that will make Mahatma Gandhi pissed off. But we didn't give up and we continued to fight, day by day.

Many times it was not our responsibility, but I am not the kind of guy who throw accuses to others. I am even more offended by your words when I think of my father, who, even if he was retired, believed in my idea and started helping me on development and manufacturing. Without rest. My father has been R&D Manager for more than 40 years at Electrolux working for prestigious brand like AEG, Procter and Gamble, Lotus, etc.

I cannot permit to offend his amazing career, honest, ethic and knowledge. I kindly ask you if you can think about my words and try to be more moderate on your expressions. You have all the reasons to be frustrated. I am too.

I understand your concern and you have all the right to express yourself. But we have all a big responsibility when we talk in public, even more when we accuse someone. If Instamic makes you so pissed off and you don't believe in it, I would be more than available to offer you a refund.

Have a great one. Kind regards Michele Baggio Instamic CEO

Hi Michele,

I will believe you if (and when) i will receive what I have paid for. Do not blame me for the choices you made, they were yours and this is the reality of how things are when you go on the free market and make your own business.

But in your case you have proved highly unreliable which brought me to the conclusion I have and take the actions I have taken - which trust me, I do not take lightly at all.

I am not into receiving excuses as to why a product is not ready and sent within a reasonable time, I want a clear plan and date on when I can expect to receive what I have paid for. All I have received so far is a bunch of vague excuses.

Bottom line is: Are you going to be sending me what I paid for within say, the next four weeks?

Or are you going to give me a full refund for what I paid?

This is what an honest, responsible, and trustworthy entrepreneur would have done.

Best,

Aliki

Hi Aliki,

I am not blaming anyone but it doesn't matter...

We have clearly two different perspectives and this is completely normal.

If I won't ship your product within 4 weeks, I will be happy to refund you.

But if you receive it, I hope you can put all the anger aside and focus on the amazing thing you have done with us that is being part of this project, make it happen as investor, user and supporter and enjoy your product.

Thanks Have a good weekend. Regards

Dear Aliki,

I can see from your tracking number that you have received your Instamic. I have sent you an email with the How-To upgrade your Instamic's firmware.

I strongly suggest to do it because we are improving stability and features very often, listening to our early backers's feedback.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at support@***.io for any further question.

I am always very happy to help.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Have a good one.

Kind regards, Michele Baggio

Hey man look I'm not sure if your aware how crowd funding works but the people aren't given the money until it's over, they then have to design and make the products and then ship them out. They shipped the first batch in like January of 2017. And are fulfilling order now.

I am well aware how crowdfunding works - I use it myself to fund my research. But clearly there is something sketchy going on with this particular product.

Look up how the product is presented on Indiegogo - they strongly indicate the product is ready. This is what made me sign up for the product - ONE YEAR AGO. And there is still no indication on when and how I will ever receive my item.

Now go to the page and tell me: what are the chances of shipping the microphone in September/October 2016 to someone who signs up right now (What?

It is March 2017 already????) Delays are in order and up to a certain extent understandable. But the overall behavior strongly suggests that this is a very cleverly set up scam.

Also, please take the time to have a look at the responses at my original comment from self-claimed backers who say they have received the item using very similar sentence structure and wording, which is suggestive that they are all sent by the same person. Now if you have $150 to lose, go ahead and order one yourself.

Aliki,

I received my Instamic in the first (?) shipment (200 units) Feb. 10.

I had no idea that I was such an early responder and hence, lucky enough to be one of the first receivers. I have had several Kickstarter experiences that made me furious so I do understand what you are going through. This is my only Indegogo experience. But you will receive it at some point in the *** and, believe me, you won't be disappointed.

It is a simple device made more feature-rich by the corresponding app and has been a blast to use.

Your patience and frustrations will be rewarded. You can rest assured that the Instamic folks are reputable.

They have shown absolutely no sign of being reputable or reliable or trustworthy. And this is another message saying the same thing over and over again. We are in the month of March BTW.

I invested in June 2015. At that time the product was projected to ship "1st quarter of 2016." That means that it is now one full year since the product was initially promised. A year and a half since my initial investment I haven't received mine, nor any indication of when it might ship.

Thank you. This is exactly what I am talking about.

In addition, that puts "Seth"'s comment under scrutiny, because if you had invested in June, then surely you would have already received your item at the same time? (According to "Seth", he placed his order after you did)

Best regards,

Aliki

I ordered one during the campaign, early July 2015. At the time, projected delivery was first quarter 2016.

It arrived last week, about a year late. But it did arrive, and seems as good as advertised (I may do a comparison with other mics next weekend).

I still find it hard to believe that it will take more than a year before a product is delivered. Thousands of excuses have come forth since that time (move to Denmark, then faulty part, then slow production in China, then AppleApp permit and most lately China New Year Celebration and so forth).

This campaign is 100% fraudulent and misleading. So I insist on recommending that people do NOT give any money for Instamic Microphone.
