On September 3rd, 2010 I paid six thousand dollars for a Husqvarna Viking Designer Ruby Sewing/Embroidery machine. I took it home and sewed on it for 30 minutes and it quit functioning.

I returned it to the store September 4th. Since it was a holiday weekend another machine was not ordered until September 7th. On September 13th a new machine came in to replace it, however, it was a much lesser model, not a Designer Ruby. The Regional Rep was contacted and another order placed and being sent the quickest way possible.

Today is September 23rd. I contacted the main number from the Husqvarnaviking.com website and was told "Sorry, the Designer Ruby model is on backorder until the end of October." So apparently the recession is over if that many people can buy 6000.00 sewing machines that there isn't a SINGLE machine left in the U.S. to send me.

The store I bought this from has been nothing but apologetic and nice, but I think I will get my money back and buy something other than a Viking Sewing machine. Apparently their quality is as poor as their customer service.

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

I purchased a designer Ruby on 3/6/11. After a month it would not stitch properly.

I took it back to the store, since then the dealer has changed my machine 3 times. The first one a part broke in the machine. Viking said the part was on back order and did not know when then would be able to supply the dealer.

He gave me a new machine. The second machine after 30 minutes of embroidery would make a banging sound and shake.

It almost fell in my lap. This last machine I have had 5 months, it is doing the same thing the first machine did. It thread nests and will not stitch out. I have another ruined project.

In addition this machine, had a wire fall off that had to be put on. If you turn the machine over your will find that the label on the bottom says Made in China. The label on the front of the machine says designed and engineered in Sweden. The machines are expensive Junk.

I am now out my money and can only hope the dealer will honor the policy of allowing me to use the money I have already spent to trade up to a Diamond. I am captive since all the accessories I have already purchased will only fit a viking. Other wise I would buy a Baby Lock. Word of warning DO not buy a Viking.

I have read others comments on-line, I am not the only person having these problems.

There are a lot more of us. These machines are just JUNK.

The West Coast Rep called me and was very nice. I was going to Anchorage anyway so we made arrangements for me to pick up a new Designer Ruby from a dealer there.

I brought it home last night and plugged it in. it has over FIVE hours on it. They gave me a demo. They told me the box had been opened, but they never said it had been used.

Now I have paid 6000. for a used machine. I don't know if it was a demo or was brought back to them broken and then repaired or what.

I am NOT happy. I will drive back to Anchorage today and give it back to them.

I am sorry and very surprised that you all are having so many problems with your machine. I bought the husqvarna viking ruby royale in August 2015.

The machine works like a dream! I am addicted to embroidery now and I absolutely love this machine. My dealer is Sew-a-Lot in Centerville, Oh. Their customer service could not be better.

They are very helpful. They offer classes to help one learn to use the machine for as long as you own the machine. They have always answered my questions and helped in any way they could. They also have a service dept.

on site.

I am really enjoying this machine. I hope you can get your problems resolved so you can have as much fun as I am.
