Last night my family & I went to eat @ Hooters in Greenwood. They were actually not that busy for a Friday night.

When we walked in we were told there was a 15 minute wait. My 1st thought was "No problem" As my husband & I looked around we noticed several open tables. I went to the bathroom & counted about 16 open tables. The hostess said to the handful of people waiting "I know you see all these tables open but we are waiting on the kitchen to catch up.

We all could not believe this! My husband & I had worked all day & could not understand why we could not sit down, relax, & order a drink while waiting on the kitchen to catch up. After about 10 minutes we talked with a young female manager who seemed to not care @ all that we wanted to have a seat (with plenty open) After 15 minutes they were still telling those walking in it would be 15 minutes. We ended up leaving with several others that were waiting.

The manager gave us a very rude "bye!" I thought this was very poor customer service! We have dined @ this location many times & this was our second bad experience. My husband said he will never go to Hooters again! What a shame since my two growing boys love to eat the wings!

There was quite a bit of $ lost by not letting people sit down & order drinks while waiting.

The whole experience was a disappointment! We went to another place to eat that was a lot busier & they sat us down right away

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $80.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Location: 7551 US-31, Indianapolis, IN 46227, USA

It is very common that restaurants do not seat parties when the kitchen or front of house staff is struggling to catch up. There is nothing wrong with this policy either.

I can tell you from personal experience that if they went ahead and sat you and the others, you would be demanding service and crying, first to the manager and then to Corporate, how you sat for 20 minutes without service. This, despite being told they were trying to catch up.

I have seen it happen again and again. If you have so little understanding or patience, it is best you eat at home.
